One Life to Live Recap for Monday, October 8, 2001

Hank, Keri, Nora

Keri overhears a message that Hank leaves on Nora’s machine, telling her that they need to talk.  Nora asks why Keri didn’t pick up the phone and Keri says that she know why Hank is calling.  She tells Nora that Hank is her father, that she has proof and that Hank is denying it.  Nora is shocked.  Nora doesn’t believe that Hank is the kind of man who would deny something like that.  Keri says it’s true and Nora says she’ll talk to Hank to try and find out what’s going on.  Keri says she can try, but it won’t change how he feels.  Keri leaves for work and Hank comes by.  He tells Nora that he waited until Keri left to come in.  Nora tells him she’s very confused and asks him if he is Keri’s father.  He brings out a letter and shows it to her, telling her the truth is in the letter and he doesn’t want to betray Keri’s mother and hurt a lot of people.  Nora reads the letter and says that Hank needs to tell the truth for Keri’s sake…that she deserves for the truth to come out. We don’t know yet what’s in the letter.  Hank realizes that Nora is right and that he needs to talk to Keri.  He goes to the university and finds her, but she tells him she’s on her way to a meeting.  He tells her they need to talk and she asks if he’s ready to admit the truth.  He doesn’t say that he is, so she says she’s late for her meeting and starts to leave.  He tells her that they will talk later and he will tell her the truth.

Later, Troy is looking at Matthew’s test results and calls Nora to confirm their appointment that day and to ask her to come as soon as she can…which worries her.

Cris, Jen, RJ and Keith

Cris and Jen are very happy.  He asks her to move in with him and she thinks about it then agrees that she will go home and pack her things and talk to her dad about moving in with Cris.  Outside Cris’ door, RJ finds Keith about to break in and stops him.  He tells Keith that he is no longer on the payroll and to leave Cris alone.  Keith tells him that it’s bad for his reputation that he was given a job to get rid of someone and he’s still breathing…so he tells RJ that he’s going to take care of Cris once and for all…and he pulls out his gun with the silencer.  RJ is scared because he knows he has no control over Keith.  Keith realizes that now is not the time to go into Cris’ apartment, so he leaves and warns RJ that he will get rid of Cris.  Jen leaves and RJ goes into Cris and tells him he better get out of town.  Cris wants an explanation and RJ won’t tell him the truth, but Cris figures out that RJ really did hire Keith.  RJ tells him that if anything does happen to him that his brother, the cop, will blame him, even if he’s not responsible.  RJ is just trying to convince him to get out of town to save his life and Cris isn’t buying it.  He kicks RJ out and RJ tells him he’s been warned.  Cris isn’t listening.  Cris comes back into his apartment and there is a message on the machine.  It’s from Keith, saying that he is going to cut out Cris’ heart and there won’t be a drop of blood….meaning that he’s going to go after Jen.  Jen is sitting in the university reading and Keith comes up to her wearing glasses, looking like a student.  She looks up and asks if she can help him and he says that he bets she can.

Bo and Lanie

Lanie is at the hospital and finds Troy.  She asks to speak to him and they sit down to talk.  She tells him that she’d like him to take over some of her patients and he asks her why.  She tells him that she knows he’s a good doctor and that since he’s new he has a lighter patient load…he asks her why she is turning over her patients and she’s explaining to him that she’s leaving.  Just then, Bo walks in.  He tells her he’s been looking for her all night and asks where she’s been.  She said she had some things to clear up.  He tells her they need to talk and she agrees to go back to his place with him.  She says she never expected to see the place again and after this conversation she won’t again.  They talk about her lying and she says she understand that he’s been lied to so many times…and he says that he knows her lies weren’t so bad, but to him a lie is a lie.  Then he gets her to admit that she is the patient with leukemia and she tells him there’s no hope for her condition, but she’s going to see a specialist in New York.  He tells her that they haven’t had nearly enough time to get to know each other and asks if she thought he would just cut and run when he found out she was sick.  She says she didn’t think that…but with Colin’s murder and Sam’s trial there was so much going on and she didn’t want to add to it.  He tells her that they have here and now and that he wants to marry her right away.  She is very happy and throws her arms around him.

Blair and Todd

Blair is on the phone talking to Kelly and her midwife tells her that there is a crazy guy at the door asking for her.  Blair goes to the door and there is someone kneeling down covered by a big sombrero.  She can’t believe it’s Todd.  He comes in and pretends that he’s there because Starr is worried about Blair.  He tells her that even though Starr now hates her, she still needs to know where her mother is.  Blair isn’t buying any of it and tells Todd that she can’t let Starr know where she is because Todd won’t let her know where Starr is.  He’s just giving he a lot of double talk and lets her know that he knows she was having pain at the airport.  She asks him if he was there and he denies it, and then she figures out that he’s been having her followed.  She wants to know why he’s following her and cares how she is doing if he hates her so much.  He keeps saying it’s all because of Starr.  He asks he how long she thinks she can hide the truth and she doesn’t know what he’s referring to.  He tells her that he’s figured out that she doesn’t want Max and that if she did, she would be furious that he sleeps with everything that moves.  He tells her that he believes she still wants him.  She denies it, of course, and then she turns the tables on him and keeps wondering why he is there at all.  She tells him that it’s strange that he came all the way to Mexico to see how she is and he denies why he’s there.  She tells him that she knows he is there because he’s worried about her and still cares about her and loves her.  He says nothing.

Asa, Gabby, Renee

Asa and Gabby come to the hospital as part of their plan.  They find Troy and Gabby thanks him again for saving Al’s life.  She tells him that they need to refill Asa’s prescription for his heart medicine because he lost the bottle and luckily, Gabby found an old one.  Since Larry isn’t there, they ask Troy to fill it and he tells Asa that he shouldn’t be fooling around with not taking that medication.  Asa pretends not to care, but Gabby tells Troy that she is making sure he takes it.  This makes her look like the dedicated wife, trying to keep her husband alive.  Troy agrees to go fill the prescription since Larry is away and Asa and Gabby are happy because now they’ve laid the groundwork for Troy to give them the medication and for them to put the poison in the other bottle and get Max’s fingerprints on it.  They also have Troy thinking that Gabby is the dedicated wife.

Asa and Gabby are waiting in the sunroom for Troy when Renee burst in angry with Asa because she just overheard that he hasn’t been taking his medication properly.  Gabby assures her that he is and Renee tells Asa that at least when she was his wife she made sure he took his medication and didn’t lose it because it’s a wife’s job to care of her husband’s welfare.  Asa is nasty to Renee telling her to mind her business and he and Gabby leave, satisfied that now even Renee can vouch for the fact that Gabby is taking care of Asa.
