ONE LIFE TO LIVE RECAP FOR TUESDAY, MARCH 6, 2001

<<< BACK TO RECAPS  INDEX

Antonio, noting that his apartment door is ajar, proceeds with his gun
drawn. “Freeze!” he yells at the figure he sees inside. It’s Cris, who urges
his brother to punch him if he feels the need to. Tonio raises his fist as
if to do so, but pulls his brother into a hug instead. The two men recall
the time, long ago, that they staged a fight in order to catch a criminal,
and Cris expresses his relief that Antonio got his cryptic message. Cris
admits that he’s going after RJ. Antonio warns his brother of the danger,
and questions when Cris came to this decision. Shortly after his hand was
broken, Cris confides, since he knew that RJ was responsible. He reveals
that, in the beginning, he didn’t give a damn what happened to him, but that
he now wants to protect Antonio from RJ’s obvious vendetta. He also needs to
prove something to himself, Cristian adds. “I’m with you in this, all the
way,” Antonio assures his brother. They go on to discuss how slick RJ is,
then their talk turns to speculation on who the informant might be.

Roseanne enters Break Bar. RJ is dismayed to see her there, as he notes that
her presence lets the world know they’re working together. Roseanne insists
she would have stayed away, but she received another visit from Colin. RJ
curses himself for not sending MacIver down the elevator shaft when he had
the chance. Roseanne informs RJ that Colin is blackmailing her. He’ll be
stopped, “one way or another,” RJ assures Roseanne. She begs RJ for enough
money to pay Colin off, but RJ responds that this won’t rid them of MacIver’
s presence. Nevertheless, RJ eventually agrees to help. “On one condition,”
he adds. Roseanne is dismayed to find out that RJ requires more information
from her. She can’t believe he wants to get her in deeper, but he’s not
sympathetic. Roseanne reluctantly agrees. Before leaving, she vows that she’
s willing to help RJ hurt Colin.

Antonio warns Cristian not to get antsy, or RJ’s suspicions will be aroused.
“We can do this,” the brothers declare, as they shake hands. “Do what?”
Roseanne wonders, as she overhears the end of their conversation. She
assumes that they’ve patched up their differences. Cris, unwilling to expose
his secret arrangement, immediately picks a fight with Antonio, which
culminates in Cris throwing another punch in his brother’s direction. Cris
storms out, leaving Roseanne to tend to Antonio. She urges him to see a
doctor, but he demurs. He laments the ‘fact’ that his brother is on the
wrong side now.

Meanwhile, once Cris has returned to Break Bar, he confesses to RJ that he
punched Antonio again. He rails against his brother’s attitude, then
proceeds to inform RJ that Tonio is convinced there’s a spy in the police
department. RJ feigns indifference to the news.

Melanie arrives at the police station, looking for Bo. He’s not there, but
Sophia promises to give him a message. The two women discuss Colin, and
Melanie vows that she’ll make sure her ex doesn’t hurt anyone else. Sophia
teases Lanie about keeping it on the right side of the law. Melanie counters
that Colin is no joke. Once Lanie leaves, Sophia notices that Roseanne is
not at her desk.

Colin paces in the hallway just outside the gallery. His search for his
missing syringe comes up empty. He enters the gallery. Behind a wall,
Lindsay fills the syringe with the drug Colin was carrying, then she steps
out of the shadows and creeps up behind him. She’s about to inject him, but
is stopped by Nora’s arrival. Lindsay denies that she meant Colin any harm,
and insists that she found the needle on the floor. As Lindsay continues to
hold the syringe, Nora has a flashback of a woman’s hand in just such a
position. “I remember,” Nora states. Lindsay suggests that Nora’s mind must
be playing tricks on her. Nora queries whether Lindsay was planning to wipe
out Colin’s memory, too. Lindsay denies any such intent. Colin reaches for
the syringe, but Nora grabs it. Colin attempts to make Nora believe that the
drug is harmless. There’s one way to find out, Nora muses, as she advances
towards Lindsay. After a brief struggle, Colin regains control of his
property. He tries to calm Nora, but she rebuffs him. Once Colin has left,
Lindsay calls Nora “insane.” Nora wonders how Lindsay felt about being on
the other end of the syringe. “Is that what you remember, Nora?” Lindsay
asks. If Nora truly remembered, she’d be on her way to see Bo, Lindsay adds.
Her memory is coming back in bits and pieces, Nora assures Lindsay.

It’s Colin that Nora should be afraid of, Lindsay asserts, but Nora scoffs
at Lindsay’s worries. She sarcastically thanks her nemesis for her concern,
but she doesn’t need it. Lindsay, changing tacks, suggests that she, Lanie
and Nora should band together to rid themselves of Colin. If they pay him
enough, he’ll leave town, Lindsay maintains. Nora is stunned at Lindsay’s
gall, but the latter swears that she’s asking “for all of us.” Nora counters
that Lindsay is simply trying to protect herself, since Colin is
blackmailing her about her involvement in the kidnapping. Nora notes that
she can smell Lindsay’s fear, and that she’s certain that her nemesis will
soon make a mistake. Lindsay insists that Colin is deluded and truly
believes that he and Nora have a future together, and the only way to stop
him is to give him money so that he’ll go away. Nora refuses to give in.
“Over my dead body,” she exclaims. “That’s exactly what I’m afraid of,”
Lindsay responds. Nora urges Lindsay not to lose any sleep over her
well-being. She’d rather kill Lindsay than be protected by her, Nora
declares. Lindsay throws up her hands in defeat. Nora warns Lindsay that she
’ll get Colin to divulge the truth before he leaves town.

Returning home, Colin examines the syringe before putting it away. Melanie
emerges from the shadows. “I came to give you what you want,” she declares,
as she tosses her purse at him. It’s every cent she has, and she hopes he
goes far away, she adds. Colin wonders where they went wrong. He reminisces
about a trip they took together and how happy they were. Lanie is unmoved.
“You’ve turned into a heartless, money grubbing monster,” she accuses, as
she urges him to take the money and go. Once he’s alone, Colin creates his
cocktail of drugs. Alone, each of them is relatively harmless, he mutters,
but “mixed together, the lady won’t be able to resist.”

At Crossroads, Ben and Viki are discussing Renee’s reaction to the news that
Ben is her son. Ben maintains that Asa is not, and never will be, his
father. Viki admits that she hates what Todd did to him. Ben expresses his
fear that his life with Viki is in danger. As she attempts to reassure him,
Bo enters the bar. “I need to speak to my brother,” he declares. Ben braces
himself for what’s to come, as Bo talks about Asa’s heart trouble and how it
changed the old man. He suggests that maybe they shouldn’t be so quick to
blame Asa for his recent actions, since they could be based on his medical
condition. While Ben doesn’t disagree, he reminds Bo that Asa still hates
his guts, despite the revelation of his paternity. Bo changes the subject,
asking for Ben’s help in nailing Max for fraud. Ben insists that it’s not
his problem, and that things wouldn’t be any different even if he’d put
himself in the middle of it all a year ago. “Consider that you’ve had a year
’s reprieve,” Bo responds.

Just outside, Gina is making a call to an unknown person on her cell phone.
“He’s at the Crossroads Bar. Get a gun. Make it fast and clean,” she
demands. “I run this organization,” she reminds her contact when her orders
are questioned.

“I don’t want anything from Asa,” Ben assures Bo. The commissioner wonders
why it doesn’t bother Ben that the family has been scammed for over a year.
He accuses Ben of not having the guts to face the truth. Viki objects to Bo’
s statement, but Ben is unfazed. He’s saved Asa’s life twice, Ben reminds
Bo, and that’s all the help Asa will be getting from him. Bo threatens to
lock Ben up as an accessory. “Go ahead, arrest me,” Ben taunts. Bo remarks
that Asa is Ben’s father, whether he likes it or not. Ben once again urges B
o to arrest him, since he’s got a very good lawyer – Sam Rappaport. Feeling
the need for some air, Ben steps outside.

Ben is surprised to see Gina appear before him. She insists that he’s in
more danger than he knows, and that he has to come with her right away, so
that she can protect him. Ben counters that he can’t, as there are too many
things going on in his life.

Bo berates Viki for her silence regarding Max’s scam. Viki can’t believe
that Bo thinks it was Ben’s responsibility to look after the Buchanans. She
reminds Bo of all that Ben has had to face. Bo counters that the truth is
important. Viki defends her husband’s actions and insists that it wasn’t her
place to tell. “There’s more at stake,” Bo admits. Ben had knowledge of Max’
s criminal deeds, Bo adds. Viki expresses her belief that Bo is being
selfish in wanting his case neatly tied up, and she suggests that what he
wants won’t happen. Their conversation is interrupted by the sound of
gunfire, followed by a scream. Bo and Viki rush outside and are stunned to
see Ben lying on the ground. “He’s been shot!” Gina screams, as Viki eyes
the scene warily.
