Asa, Gabrielle and Max

Asa and Gabrielle are arguing in the living room about Gabrielle coming home from a shopping spree and spending a ton of Asa’s money.  Max is outside the door eavesdropping.  It is apparent that Asa and Gabrielle know he’s listening and are fighting for his benefit.   Gabrielle yells that she has an image to uphold and that’s why she spent so much money on clothes.  She asks Asa if he’s running out of money and he says no, not yet.  Asa yells at Gab to hand over all of her credit cards.  She is appalled and Asa tells her, “It’s my way or the highway.”  She gives him the credit card.  All the while, Max is outside listening and laughing to himself, believing that there is trouble between Asa and Gab already.  Gab tells Asa that she’ll just wear rags if that will make him happy.  Asa tell her to get rid of all the new clothes and storms out of the room.  Once he’s gone, Max comes in, gloating to Gab that he knew all along that she was only after Asa’s money and that obviously there is already trouble in paradise.  Gab pretends to be very mad at Max for eavesdropping.  Max advised her to spend more slowly and hide the evidence when she comes home with all those shopping bags.  He tells her that Asa has caught on to her in record time.  He tells her that he bets she had to sign a huge pre-nup and reminds her that Asa can probably throw her out at any time.  She asks Max if that would bother him…if he’d care if she were on the street again.  He said he’d toss her a buck.  He says that even though he owes her nothing for turning Al against him, he’d toss Asa out first.   Asa comes back into the room screaming about why Gab hasn’t gotten rid of the new stuff yet and Max makes his exit.  Asa and Gab congratulate each other on making Max believe that they are already having problems.  Asa is ready for Phase II.

Roseanne and the voodoo lady

Roseanne asks her to give her something to make Antonio fall in love with her.  The woman asks if he loved her before and she says it wasn’t exactly love.  The woman says she needs some kind of charm to get him to fall for her.  She warns Roseanne that she is losing a big piece of her soul.  Roseanne said she thought it was just a little piece…LOL…but the woman warns her.  Roseanne doesn’t care.  The woman gives her an elixir…a love potion.  She tells her that the person who drinks it will fall in love with the first person they see.  Roseanne is wondering if it will work…she is skeptical and then she decides to try it on someone else.  She decides to get back at Kelly by trying it on her.  She tells the woman that Kelly hurt her and since Kelly’s boyfriend, Kevin, is away, she will give the potion to Kelly, make her fall in love with someone else, and wreck her life with Kevin.

Roseanne later goes to Dorian’s house, pretending to apologize to Kelly and thank her for making her give up the truth to Antonio.  Kelly is not buying any of it and Roseanne worms her way into the house anyway.  She asks Kelly if they can have a drink and talk about it…she wants to put the potion in Kelly’s drink….but Kelly tells her, “Sorry, we’re all out of hemlock.”  Roseanne doesn’t leave.

Jen and Cristian

Jen is alone in the hotel room in NY, remembering the night she was with Cris in the quarry.  There is a knock at the door and she asks who it is…he says “Room Service.”  She says she didn’t order anything, but he knocks again.  She opens it and it’s Cris.  She’s very happy to see him.  He asks if he can come in.  She lets him in and asks how he found her.  He told her that when she called him he could tell that she was at the airport and he had his brother, the cop, help track her down.  He tells her he wasn’t going to come after her, but he had to see if she was ok.  He questions her about her mother’s motives for taking her away.  She tries to defend Lindsay, but does a bad job.  Cris tells her that her father is going on trial today and she’s hidden away in a hotel…what’s wrong with that picture?  She tells Cris that her dad didn’t want her there and he asks if her dad told her that himself.  She said no and Cris tells her that it was Lindsay’s doing.  Jen doesn’t want to believe him, but it’s very obvious he’s right.  He tells her that there is nothing she could tell him that would make him run away from her.  She says he can’t say that because he doesn’t know what she knows.  He insists that he won’t turn away from her no matter what.  Cris tells her that she can’t push him away.  He offers to help her, or to take her back to Llanview if she wants to go back.  She asks if he thinks she should go back and he tells her it’s her decision.  She said she always runs away, like when she went to Switzerland.  He tells her that it wasn’t her fault that she found her mom in bed with another man and that her parents would not be together today even if she didn’t witness that and reveal it to her father.  He tells her she has to stop blaming herself.  Jen says she’s glad he came today.  He asks her again if she wants to go back home and she tells him that if she goes back, she’ll have to tell everyone who killed Colin.

Ben, Sam, Nora and Bo

Ben and Sam are arguing over Sam going on trial when Ben knows he’s covering for Will.  Nora is listening outside the door.  Sam says he’s not covering for Will.  Ben asks him how Will got Colin’s passport.  Sam doesn’t know anything about the passport and Ben tells him that Will burned it.  Sam says the police don’t know about that….they only found the boots at Will’s place.  Ben asks Sam…if Will is innocent, why did he have the passport, the boots, and why did he try to hire thugs to hurt Colin?  Ben tells him he’s covering for Will and it’s only a matter of time before Bo proves it.  Sam wants to know how Ben knows so much and Ben has to admit that Jess told him.  Sam is upset that Jess betrayed Will and went to Ben, but Ben said she was very upset and he feels like he betrayed Jess by telling Sam everything.  Ben tells him that he could die if he’s convicted and he wants to go and find Nora and tell he everything.  Sam stops him and tells him that if he tells Nora, he is no longer his brother.

In the meantime, Nora is very upset and walks away and Bo is talking to Will in the hallway.  He asks Will if he killed Colin and at first Will doesn’t answer.  Bo tells him that his father could be executed for something he didn’t do. Will says he didn’t kill Colin and asks why RJ is not a suspect.  He asks Bo if Hank is covering for his brother and Bo warns him not to criticize the D.A. when he, himself, is a murder suspect.

Bo runs into Nora and she is very upset.  She tells Bo that if she does her job, Sam will go free and it will destroy him.  She talks to Bo off the record and tells him that in order to create reasonable doubt, she has to point the finger at someone else….someone that Sam is willing to go to prison for.  She says she promised Sam she wouldn’t go after anyone else to save him and Bo tells her she has no choice.  He tells her that she is not Sam’s friend now…she’s his attorney.  Nora says she’s both.  Nora tells him that if someone else goes down for the murder, Sam will hate her for the rest of his life.  Bo tells her she has to tell the truth and be Sam’s attorney and down the road, Sam will understand.  He tells her she’ll have to deal with the personal fallout later.  She asks Bo, “What if I can’t stand for him to hate me?”  Bo says, “Can you bear to see him go to prison, or worse?”

Back in the courtroom, Ben is heading out to find Nora and Will comes into the courtroom at that moment.  Will asks what’s going on and Ben, very angry, says, “Your father is about to go to prison for something he didn’t do.”

Kelly and Andrew

Kelly is at Dorian’s, listening to Blair and Todd ripping the place apart upstairs unpacking.  Andrew comes to the door and he and Kelly discuss the Day of Compassion.  Andrew commends her on the wonderful article she wrote about AIDS and all the people all over the world who are dying.  Andrew tells her he is putting together an organization and that he needs someone to go to Africa.  Kelly wonders if he’s asking her to go and he tells her that he is going, but he wants her to go along also, to write about it.  Kelly is very intrigued about going, but wonders about leaving everything at home.  Andrew tells her how useful she’d be over there and he also tells her that since Cassie is so much better, he is going to take River to spend some time with her while he’s in Africa…so Kelly would be able to spend some time with Cassie.  She tells Andrew that she never told Cassie about her relationship with Kevin and Andrew assures her that Cassie would understand.  Kelly is very excited about the Cramer women being together again.

The trial begins

Jess and Al come to court…Jess sees Will, looks at him, and walks right past him to take a seat.  Ben is sitting right behind Sam.

The judge enters the courtroom (snippy lady judge) and says she’s ready to get this show on the road.  She doesn’t see Nora in her seat and asks where Mrs. Buchanan is.  Nora comes running in and apologizes for the delay and the judge tells her she’s so happy Nora could fit them into her schedule.

They do opening statements and Nora tells the jury that Sam could not have committed this murder and they can’t destroy the life of an innocent man.  Nora goes back to her seat and holds Sam’s hand.

Hank calls Bo to the stand first and they introduce the evidence…Sam’s confession, the poker, and Sam’s boots.  Hank has Bo recall when Sam confessed at Lindsay’s studio.  Hank has no more questions for Bo.  Nora gets up to cross-examine Bo.  She has him admit that Sam was not the only person to touch the poker that night…that Melanie admitted to handling it, too.  Nora brings out the fact that only Sam’s prints are on the poker and asks Bo if he thinks that’s strange.  He said it was, but that Sam admitted to wiping it off.  Nora asks Bo why Sam, who they agree is an intelligent man, would wipe off all the fingerprints but his own.  Bo doesn’t know.  Nora asks Bo about the night of Sam’s confession…she asks him if he believed Sam when he confessed.  Hank shoots up and objects and Nora begs the judge to let her continue.  The judge allows the question and Bo has to admit that he didn’t believe Sam when he confessed…that he thought he was covering for someone else.  Sam is angry because Nora promised she wouldn’t go after anyone else to save him.  He asked her if they still had a deal.

The prosecution calls it’s next witness to the stand…William Rappaport!
