Señora Minta’s Apt.

Roseanne returns looking for her curse. Señora Minta is not in, but Señora Lena offers her assistance. Roseanne was unable to get a trinket from RJ since he is so suspicious of her. Señora Lena gives her something to help her.

RJ’s Apartment

Roseanne drops by to visit. RJ is preoccupied with work and Roseanne flirts with him. RJ is suspicious of Roseanne’s advances. RJ finds the object Señora Lena gave to Roseanne and she covers by saying it is a keepsake from her Mother. RJ gets a business call and leaves the room. Roseanne tries to steal money from RJ and he catches her. He throws her out, but she manages to leave with his money clip.

Asa’s Mansion

Will tells Al to let him speak to Jessica alone. Jess tells Will not to take out their problems on Al. Jess says she will leave with Will if he intends to tell her the truth. Will doesn’t want to do that, but tries to force her to leave with him anyway. Al steps in and tells Will to back off. Will starts to push Al around when Max steps in and orders Will to leave.

Max talks to Al about his reaction to Max’s accident at the Palace. Al tries to blow him off, but Max says that he will never give up on Al. Max tries to remind Al how much it hurt him when Al left to live with Gabrielle. Al defends his Mother and says that she needed him. Besides, that didn’t give Max license to forget all about him, Al counters. Max maintains that Al doesn’t realize how much Max missed him. Al is taken aback by Max’s admission.

Al tells Max he doesn’t miss him. Max calls his bluff. Al tells Max it’s too late to give him another chance. Al doesn’t want to remember any good times with Max. He tells Max how he and Gabrielle didn’t have any money and Al had to work two jobs – where was Max then? Max wants to know how he can prove that he loves Al. Al says Max can prove it by staying out of his life. Max says if that’s what he really wants, Max will move out of the house, but he warns Al to be careful around Asa.

Viki asks the maid where Ben is. Asa corrals her to tell her how happy he is that Ben came to the party. Viki blows Asa off and is headed off to find Ben when she runs into Jessica. Jess tells Asa and Viki what happened with Will. Viki asks Asa to leave and presses Jess about her fight with Will. Jess doesn’t want to talk about Will, but does tell her Mother she wants to move in with her.

Viki says she would be delighted if Jess moves in, but wants her to do it for the right reason. Jess thanks her for understanding. She is grateful for her Mother’s support.

Gabrielle tells Ben she wants payback against Max – maybe they could work together. Ben is suspicious of Gabrielle’s plan. She tries to win him over. Ben asks Gabrielle to tell him the story of why Viki hates her. Gabrielle tells him how Carlo blackmailed her into trying to kill Megan. Gabrielle insists she did it to save Al’s life. Gabrielle would like Viki to admit that she has changed. Ben thinks Gabrielle hasn’t changed at all since she is trying to drag him into the fight against Max. Ben doesn’t want anything to do with further feuds and vendettas.

Gabrielle says Ben has the power to destroy her family at any time and asks if he is going to report Asa to the cops for ordering the hit. Finally Ben understands what Gabrielle wants from him. He refuses to give Gabrielle any indication of what he has planned for Asa. First he wants to know what Gabrielle and Asa have planned for Max. Gabrielle plays coy with him and Ben lets her off the hook. Ben says he doesn’t intend to press charges against Asa. Gabrielle accuses him of caring for Asa, which Ben vehemently denies. Ben wishes her luck with her scheme against Max.

Viki and Ben finally find each other and Ben tells Viki about being detained by Gabrielle. Viki laughs and says she was held hostage by Asa. They agree to go home and compare notes.

Jessica apologizes to Al for Will’s rude behavior. Jess leaves with Viki and Ben.

Gabrielle and Asa celebrate the success of the evening. Gabrielle tells him what she learned from Ben. Asa is relieved but wonders why Ben would let him off the hook. Gabrielle thinks Ben actually has feelings for Asa and that the feeling is mutual. Asa denies it. They toast to their plot against Max – as long as Max stays in the mansion, they will be successful.

Max is in his room packing to move out…

Rae’s House

Lindsay has broken in and found Rae’s notes and tape from her session with Jen. Lindsay listens to Rae’s comments and is about to leave with the tape when Rae and John return home. Lindsay hides in a closet. John calls the office while Rae changes. She tells him they could stay home, but John insists on taking her out to dinner.

John observes that Rae gets jittery whenever he mentions Sam or the MacIver murder. Why is that? John wonders. He presses Rae to tell him what she knows about the case. Rae evades John’s question and refuses to divulge what she learned from Jen. She wants John to see her and not a potential witness for his case. John apologizes and they kiss. Lindsay peeks out and sees the tape on the floor beneath Rae’s feet. John and Rae decide to stay home. Rae goes upstairs to change.

Lindsay emerges from the closet and retrieves the tape. Rae tells John the air conditioning isn’t working upstairs and they must spend the night downstairs – which means Lindsay must remain in the closet…

Rock Quarry

Jen and Cris admire the view of the city at night. Cris regales Jen with stories of growing up with Antonio and how he happened to find the rock quarry. Jen is shocked that Cris never brought Jess to his special place.

Cris and Jen are relaxing after a swim. They start making out, but Jen pulls away. Jen says she can’t shake the feeling that something terrible is about to happen because of her Dad’s trial. Cris presses Jen about his belief that she is covering for Lindsay. He backs off when Jen becomes upset. Cris gives Jen a stone as a symbol of good luck.

Señora Minta’s Apt.

Roseanne brings the money clip to Señora Lena and she puts the curse on RJ…

RJ’s Apartment

Will shows up and demands to know if RJ plans to tell the police that he saw Will at Colin’s house the night of the murder. Will implies that by exposing him, RJ would be exposing himself. RJ laughs at him and tells him he knows perfectly well how to stay one step ahead of the police. RJ slams the door in Will’s face.

Line of the Day

Al to Max: I stopped believing in fairy tales a long time ago – especially when they’re told by professional con men.
