Melanie’s Office

Melanie comes into her office to find Nora waiting for her and is more than surprised.  Nora admits that she has surprised even herself with the visit, but has just come from a long talk with Bo.  Melanie wonders if they talked about her.  Nora admits that her name came up, but says that she and Bo talked about their relationship.  Melanie admits to Nora that it was her idea to keep their relationship a secret.  Nora stops her, saying that she hasn’t come there to beat her up.  She knows that Melanie was just trying to be kind and she actually wants to thank her.  Melanie jokes that she could have sent a card, and Nora counters that she is not a “hearts and flowers” kind of person.  She then tells Melanie that she knows it is none of her business, but she knows that Bo proposed to her and she knows that Melanie turned him down.  She says that she hopes that she is not the reason.

Colin’s

Lindsay tells Colin that she has the right to know what Melanie is keeping from her, but she won’t pay for the information.  In that case, she won’t be finding out, Colin reminds her.  The doorbell rings and Lindsay runs upstairs to hide, saying that she doesn’t want to be seen there.  Colin opens to door to find Bo, and quips that it is always a pleasure to see him.  Bo comes in and immediately starts looking for Lindsay, as he heard her voice when he was outside.  He calls out to her, telling her that he knows she is there and she comes down the stairs, saying that she wasn’t hiding.  Bo says that he would ask her what she was doing there, but he knows he wouldn’t get an honest answer.  He adds that it’s actually not hard to figure out why she’s there; it’s just difficult to prove.  Lindsay explains that Colin and Will had a bit of a run-in on New Year’s Eve and that she came to make sure that it doesn’t happen again.  Bo wonders if her phone isn’t working, but she says that Colin won’t take her calls.

Bo tells Lindsay that his offer about coming clean still stands.  He is giving her the chance to tell the truth and square things away, giving herself a clear conscience in the meantime.  He states that he thinks that she helped Colin hide Nora and that he may be blackmailing her now, but that Colin’s immunity doesn’t protect him in this situation.  He asks if that’s what happened to the money from Asa.  Colin calls Bo ‘Columbo’ and says that he is right, he masterminded this whole plan and he is now blackmailing Lindsay.  It’s so ridiculous that he needs a drink.  Bo tells Lindsay that he is sure that she hasn’t come to talk to Colin about Will and Colin agrees, saying that she has come to ask him about Melanie’s secret and he thinks that Bo may be interested in hearing about it too.

Dorian’s

Kevin comes back to the Mansion and calls for Kelly.  As he looks about the house, he sees the card that came with the flowers.  As he walks past the computer, he sees the recent email for Joey, which apologizes for the incident on the roof of The Palace and asks her to meet him on Lantano Mountain.  He asks himself what’s going on.

Lantana Mountain

Kelly arrives at the tree and sees her and Joey’s initials.  She stops to remember for a moment, running her fingers across the bark and then hears wolves howling in the background.  She then calls out to Joey.

Cris’s Apartment

Roseanne and Antonio are in bed after making love.  They exchange various compliments and Roseanne point out the she doesn’t want to push Antonio.  She doesn’t want to scare him away.

Dorian’s

Joey arrives at Dorian’s after being called there by Kevin; he is angry and wants to know why Kevin has summoned him and asks what is so important.  Kevin tells him that he needs to know about Kelly and him.  Joey tells Kevin that they are nonexistent. Kevin demands to know where she is and wonders if she is at the rendezvous that Joey set up with her.  Joey is puzzled, but Kevin tells him that he has seen the email, the letter and the flowers.  Joey is sure that Kevin must have been drinking or smoking something, because he never sent Kelly any messages like that.

Lantano Mountain

Kelly hears something in the trees and calls out to Joey.  Sophia rushes her and throws her to the ground behind a large rock.  She pulls her gun out and tells Kelly to stay down, saying that the email was a trick.

Further away, in the trees, Charlie begins to pull off his Mr. Gray disguise.

Melanie’s Office

Nora tells Melanie that she is doing better with this whole situation than she thought.  She still loves Bo, but she isn’t in love with him.  She wants Bo to be happy and she knows that Melanie makes him happy.  She tells Melanie that whenever she is around Bo, her face lights up, too.  Melanie tells Nora that she has been through a very long journey and Nora agrees, saying that Melanie has been good to her from the beginning.  She has always liked her and she doesn’t want her to turn Bo down; they both deserve all the happiness that they can give each other.  Melanie thanks Nora and starts to cry.  When Nora asks what’s wrong, she says that she is touched.  Nora then understands that Melanie did not turn down Bo because of her.

Colin’s

Lindsay tells Colin to either put up or shut up about the secret having to do with Melanie and her father.  Colin calls them a cute threesome and says that Lindsay was never the favorite.  Bo points out that that is no secret.  Colin goes on to tell some convoluted story about all the chocolate kisses that their father gave Melanie and how she is now addicted, and eats over two bags a day.  Lindsay tells him to go to hell and Colin tells her that she is displaying that Lindsay Rappaport temper that they all know she is capable of.  Bo wonders if Colin thinks he is clever and Colin says that he does not.  He just thinks that they are stupid.  Bo wants to know what Colin is holding over Melanie and Colin says that the truth is that she killed someone.

Melanie’s Office

Melanie is crying and Nora apologizes, saying that she didn’t mean to upset her. She wonders if Melanie would like to talk.  Melanie says that there is nothing to talk about, really.  Nora tells her that she can always tell when a witness is hiding something and Melanie wonders if she is on the stand now.  She tells her that she is not, but she knows that she is hiding something and she is sure that Melanie didn’t turn Bo down because she doesn’t love him.  She then says that she had better leave before she puts both of her feet in her mouth.  Melanie thanks her for coming, saying that she really does need a friend and Nora asks her if all of this has to do with Colin.

Colin’s

Bo doesn’t believe that Melanie killed somebody, but Colin continues the story, saying that it is always the one that you least suspect, especially when it’s someone sweet and innocent, like Melanie.  Lindsay reminds Colin that he said that this had something to do with her father.  Colin says that it does; he is at the root of all of the problems.  He then goes on to say that Melanie has killed several people and they could check the cellar for body parts, as she used a chain saw to dismember them.  Lindsay asks Colin if the is enjoying himself, and he says that he is not.  Bo warns him that nothing he does or says will come between Melanie and him and that he will find out the truth about both of them.  As he leaves, Lindsay tries to stop him, but her tells her to save it.

Cris’s Apartment

Roseanne and Antonio are teasing one another and she asks him if he minds other guys hitting on her when he is around.  He tells her that they’d better not if they value their teeth.  She tells him that if she has her way, she will be with him for so long that the others won’t even notice her anymore.  She then says that she’d probably scare him if she told him that she wanted to plan their life together.  He says that he doesn’t scare easily.  She wonders what he would think if she told him what kind of wedding she wanted and he thinks that it would be better to skip the wedding and go straight to the honeymoon.  He takes her in his arms and kisses her.

Dorian’s

Joey tries to leave and tells Kevin to get out of the way.  Kevin tells him to stop trying to make him the bad guy.  Joey again denies sending the flowers and the emails, but Kevin reminds him that he lied about other things, so why should he believe him about this one.  Joey says that he is definitely not the one doing these things.

Lantano Mountain

Sophia tells Kelly that Antonio is supposed to meet her there.  As they hear footsteps, she tells Kelly that they could be in big trouble.  Kelly tells her that that is not what she wants to hear from a cop.  Charlie comes out of the trees and Sophia holds her gun on him.  Kelly tells her that it is ok, she knows him.  He is the computer expert from The Banner.  Sophia quips that it’s too bad that she doesn’t have her laptop and asks him what he’s doing there.

Melanie’s Office

As Nora starts to leave, the phone rings and it is Colin.  When Melanie asks him what he wants, he tells her that Bo and Lindsay have just left and it seems that Lindsay is very interested in knowing about her secret.  Melanie asks what he told them.  He tells her that he doesn’t get what she sees in Bo, and she admits that she is sure he wouldn’t.  He tells her he’ll be seeing her and to relax; he hasn’t told them anything about what she did to her father, at least not yet, but he bet’s they’ll be surprised when he does.   Melanie hangs up the phone and is visibly shaken.  Nora asks who it was, and Melanie tells her that it was Colin and warns her to stay away from him.  She explains that no matter what she does, it is never enough.  Nora tells Melanie that she looks scared and asks what Colin said.  Melanie says that he has changed; he has become diabolical and evil.  She knows that Nora is seeing Colin because she wants to find out more about the kidnapping, but she thinks it is dangerous.  Nora says that she has someone watching over her, but she wonders if Melanie is ok.  She says that she is; she has been dealing with him for years.  Nora says that she has to go and that Melanie should go home too.  Melanie comments that she gave her home away.  Nora tells her that if she needs her, she always knows where to reach her.  Melanie says that she hopes that they can be friends and Nora agrees with her.

Cris’s Apartment

Antonio tells Roseanne that he is sorry about getting her in trouble with Sykes.  She tells him that it wasn’t his fault, but he disagrees, saying that she was gone for two hours.  She points out that Brenda had promised to cover, but had to leave to take care of a sick child and Sophia promised to cover for Brenda, but didn’t.  Antonio defends Sophia, saying that if she promises to do something she does it.  Roseanne tells him that she doesn’t want to talk about Sophia; she wants to concentrate on being there with him and to pretend that there isn’t a world out there.

Lantano Mountain

Charlie asks Sophia why she hasn’t put the gun away and she tells him that he hasn’t answered her question.  He tells her that it’s hard to talk with a gun in his face and he doesn’t want anybody to get hurt.  Sophia puts the gun down, apologizing and saying that she thought he was someone else.  He comments on how deserted the place is and says that that is why Joey picked it.  They ask him how he knew about the meeting and he says that Joey has sent him to say that he has been delayed.  Kelly wonders why he didn’t call her on her cell phone, but Charlie is quick to say that it is probably out of range.  Sophia comments that it is getting cold and dark and maybe they should find another place to meet.  Charlie insists that Joey really needs to talk to Kelly and says that he will stay there with her.  Kelly agrees, saying that she really isn’t that cold and that she wants to talk to Joey, too.  Sophia is suspicious and Kelly sees the look on her face and asks her what is wrong.

Dorian’s

Kevin tells Joey that he believes him and Joey is relieved.  Kevin wonders out loud who could be chasing Kelly and then has a revelation.  He asks Joey where the tree is and who else knows about it.  Joey tells him that it is on Lantano Mountain and nobody knows about it.  Kevin is sure that Gray does.

Lantano Mountain

Kelly again asks Sophia what is wrong, but Sophia insists that she is just cold.  Charlie tells her that she can leave and Kelly assures her that she’ll be fine.  Sophia thinks that Kelly is too upset to talk to Joey right now, cut Charlie comments that she is upset because of Joey and should stay and talk to him. Sophia invents a story about one of Kelly’s old school friends that lives in Vegas and needs her help.  Kelly listens intently and Sophia says that she can’t help this friend of Kelly’s if Kelly isn’t there with her.  Charlie says that he has promised Joey that Kelly will wait with him.  When he calls Sophia Officer Pellegrino, Sophia wonders how she knew his name, but he covers again, saying that everyone at The Banner knows about her.  She says that they can clear up the whole mess; she’ll call Joey on her cell phone and talk to him.

Cris’s Apartment

Roseanne says that it is late and she knows that Antonio has to get up early; she should leave.  He has gotten up to pour some wine and tells her that he didn’t say anything about needing sleep and he doesn’t want her to go anywhere.  He brings the wine back to her and she says that it is really nice.  He explains that she is usually fussing over him and that tonight he wants to take care of her.  He makes a toast to the two of them.  She tells him that she loves the sound of that.  Antonio’s cell phone rings and it is Sophia.  Antonio tells her that it is not great timing.  She ignores him and tells him that they are freezing their butts off and she was wondering if he is on his way.  Charlie throws her phone to the ground and pulls out his gun.  Sophia tells Kelly that she thinks they have found their hit man.

Melanie’s Room

As Melanie is preparing to enter her room, one of the hotel staff approaches, telling her that a friend of hers has come and insisted on waiting, so they let him in. When she asks who it is, Bo opens the door and smiles at her.  She enters the room and he says that he hopes she doesn’t mind him surprising her. She reminds him that she had told him she was busy and he tells her that he was hoping that she had finished what she had to do.  She tells him that she thought it would be better if they didn’t see each other and he reminds her about their honesty pact.  She tells him that she can’t handle that tonight.  She says that she thinks that it might be better if he just forgot her, but he says that would be like forgetting how to breathe.  She says that it would be hard; she loves him and she knows that he loves her, but she also thinks she knows what is best.  Bo tells her that they need to be honest with each other, but she says that she can’t find a way.  He says that they can try together, but she tells him that it isn’t that simple.  He is sure that they can get through this; he loves her so much and he wants to be there with her tonight.

Cris’s Apartment

Antonio says that is was Sophia on the phone and they got cut off.  Roseanne says that Sophia called because she is there.  Antonio comments that her timing is impeccable.  Roseanne comments on how difficult things are between Sophia and her in the carriage house, saying what a bad time it is to be broke. Antonio asks if she’d like to move in with him.

Kevin & Joey

Kevin and Joey are in the car and headed for Lantano Mountain.  Joey urges him to go faster, but Kevin tells him that it is icy and they won’t do Kelly any good if they end up in a ditch.

Lantano Mountain

Kelly says that Charlie can’t be the hit man; he was older and had Gray hair.  “And an Irish accent?”  Charlie asks, speaking in Mr. Gray’s voice.  Kelly is astonished and asks why, saying that they were friends.  He quips that he doesn’t remember getting a Christmas card, and comments on how difficult it has been to get her alone.  She tells him that he doesn’t want to do this and he agrees, saying that is why he probably hasn’t pulled the trigger.  He doesn’t like killing women, but if he doesn’t he will be out of business.  As he aims his gun, Sophia attacks him.
