ONE LIFE TO LIVE RECAP FOR TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 20, 2001

<<< BACK TO RECAPS  INDEX

Melanie urges Lindsay to team up with her so that they can stop Colin cold.
Lindsay insists that she doesn’t need her sister’s help. Lanie counters
that, if they trust each other, then Colin will have no power over them.
Lindsay wonders if this means that Melanie is willing to tell her
everything. Yes, Lanie responds, as long as Lindsay follows. Lindsay swears
that she’ll share anything with Lanie, but that she really has no secrets.
Melanie doesn’t buy Lindsay’s excuse that Colin is simply trying to get her
to pay for some information. Lanie hopes that Lindsay won’t fail her now,
and that she won’t judge her, either, just as Lanie promises she won’t judge
Lindsay. For what? asks a defensive Lindsay. She thinks Lindsay was
involved in Nora’s kidnapping, Lanie admits, but she still wants to be close
to her sister again. She thinks they could both use a friend, Lanie adds.
Lindsay opines that there’s no one she can trust, and that there never has
been. She expresses the need she’s had all her life for love, and she
searches for reassurance that her children love her, since she’s
disappointed them so much. Lanie does her best to comfort Lindsay, who
declares that she has hurt people when she’s been desperate. Melanie assures
Lindsay that she’ll always be there for her, but Lindsay questions whether
they can still be close once Lanie marries Bo.

Lanie insists that Bo can’t come between them. Lindsay asks Melanie to
divulge her secret first. Lanie is reluctant, as she becomes increasingly
suspicious. She figures that Lindsay isn’t being straight with her. The
sisters hurl accusations at each other, culminating in Lindsay’s vow that
she’ll find out Melanie’s secret, and I’ll use it.

Across town, Colin compliments Jen on her appearance. He asks why she has no
hug for her favorite uncle. Ben has taken that place, she responds. Jen goes
on to berate Colin for using her mom, but he denies her accusations. He
swears that the affair was all Lindsay’s idea. Jen wonders if that’s also
the case with Nora’s kidnapping did Lindsay talk him into that, too?
Colin, clearly relishing his position of power, muses aloud about Jen
finally asking questions. He justifies all his actions, as Jen defends her
mother. Colin informs Jen that Will had exactly the same reaction total
denial. Colin begins to ramble about loss of trust among family members, as
he draws nearer to Jen. She knows who’s really responsible, he whispers. Jen
shrinks back as Colin insists that Jen is to blame for everything that
happened. Jen is shaken as Colin reminisces about the day she came home
early and found Lindsay with Sam’s junior partner. She came running to her
uncle Colin, he reminds Jen, and he placed an anonymous phone call to Sam.
That was the end of her parents’ marriage, and he’s kept her secret all
these years, Colin adds. He protected her then, and he’s protecting her now,
Colin declares. He continues to mess with Jen’s mind, and she runs out.

RJ is speaking to someone on the phone that he is clearly displeased with.
Roseanne arrives, and RJ berates her for being late. She responds that she
doesn’t like to be at his beck and call. He urges her to keep Antonio and
Sophia far from his operations. Vega would never forgive me, Roseanne
counters. Cristian overhears. Forgive what? he queries. Roseanne tells
Cris it’s none of his business, but RJ covers for her by telling Cris that
she meant Cris wouldn’t forgive her if she left without saying goodbye. Cris
remains suspicious, and Roseanne beats a hasty retreat. RJ changes the
subject by asking Cris if he’s still interested in some outside action. When
Cris responds in the affirmative, RJ informs him that there will be a job
that night. RJ then tries to ascertain how Cris will feel if his new
activities put him at odds with Antonio. Cris assures RJ that he doesn’t
care what his brother does or thinks. RJ wonders if Cris would be able to
take Antonio out, should it come to that. He doesn’t carry guns and he won’t
resort to murder, Cris responds. Their conversation is interrupted by the
arrival of a visibly upset Jen. Cris apologizes for not being able to stay
and talk. He promises to return soon, at which time, he’ll be all ears. Jen
heads for the bar and uses her fake ID to obtain a couple of drinks.

At the station, Sophia and Antonio discuss the information they’ve just
received that another truck is due to disappear that night. They gleefully
anticipate arresting RJ, and they’re impatient to get started. They
speculate further on who within the department might be the spy. Antonio
then expresses his hope that, if RJ goes down, Cristian will get away from
his bad influence and go back to realizing his potential. Sophia is
supportive and manages to make him laugh, just as Roseanne arrives. Sophia
leaves. Roseanne and Antonio discuss the fun evening they had on Valentine’s
Day. Antonio is making no promises, but he wants them to move forward with a
clean slate. Roseanne starts to cry as she insists that she doesn’t want to
hurt him. Antonio assures her that she can’t, since they’re not that
involved. He gives her a hug and reminds her that the officers are beginning
to trust her again. She just has to be sure not to make the same mistake
twice.

A short time later, Sophia and Antonio are preparing for their clandestine
operation. Roseanne overhears them as they confirm the location of the
warehouse and as they express their delight at the prospect of arresting RJ.

At the Country Club, the wedding guests are stunned at the sudden turn of
events. The minister is sure he’s heard wrong, but Todd wonders which part
of hell, no, the man didn’t understand. Blair pleads with Todd to tell her
why he’s doing this. Sam and Viki urge Todd to stop, but Bo, Skye and Max
are all eager for him to continue. Todd reminds Blair of all the blood they
had to clean up. She is totally baffled as to his motivation, and begs him
to stop. Stop? I’m just getting started, Todd retorts. Despite Blair’s
protestations, Todd recounts how he covered up for her. Nora, Asa, Max and
Skye all want the truth, so Todd provides the details of Max’s shooting and
Skye’s frame-up. Blair tries to leave, but Bo stops her. She then accuses
Todd of lying, as Max demands that Bo arrest Blair. Bo refuses to do so
without further evidence. Blair, facing Todd, tearfully tells him that he’s
ruined everything. You should have thought of that before, Todd responds,
coldly. Before what? Blair queries.

Viki questions Todd as Blair continues to plead ignorance. Todd saunters up
to Max and Skye and offers an apology. Skye turns on him and threatens to
appeal to her powerful father for help in dealing with Todd. Do you know
who my father is? No. Do you know who your mother is? Todd counters. I
do, Todd smirks, as Rae looks on in horror. John steps in, attempting to
diffuse the situation, but Skye shoos him away. Rae pleads with Todd to
stop, as Skye screams at Rae and John to butt out. Todd grins as he spills
yet another secret. He asks Skye if she knows about Rae’s long lost child,
the one she’s been looking for forever. It’s you, Skye, Todd states. Tears
stream down Rae’s face as Skye refuses to believe this news, even when
presented with the evidence on the page from the Bible. Skye insists that it
’s a fake. Todd agrees that it is a copy, but he suggests that she ask Rae
for the original, since he took it from Rae’s office.

Skye confronts Rae. She’s sure Ms. Cummings made this all up, in order to
add more misery to her life. She’ll take a DNA test, like Max did, Skye
declares. Her slip doesn’t go unnoticed. Asa jumps into the fray, insisting
that Max is his son. Viki and Ben hold their breath as Sam attempts to calm
everyone down. Rae admits that she never wished for this she’s finally
found her daughter, and her daughter hates her. She’ll never believe this,
Skye shouts, as she storms out.

Moments later, in the ladies’ room, Skye tries to convince herself that what
she’s just heard can’t possibly be true. Rae enters, and their eyes meet.

John is immediately on Todd’s case, but Max opines that it’s a waste of
time, since Todd isn’t capable of human compassion. Max is about to go find
Skye, when Todd’s words stop him. Hold it, Holden, Todd sneers, as he
confesses that he has something to say about Max. Viki and Ben exchange
worried glances, while Max tries to exit. Asa orders Bo to arrest Todd and
Blair for shooting his son and leaving him to die in a pool of his own
blood. His blood, yes, but not yours, Todd grins. The assembled guests look
on in shock as Todd reveals one final secret. Max is not your son. There’s
not a drop of the Buchanan gene in his lousy body.
