ONE LIFE TO LIVE RECAP FOR FRIDAY, AUGUST 17, 2001

<<< BACK TO RECAPS  INDEX

Nora and Sam

Nora and Sam are sitting very close and Sam asks again how she feels about him.  She says she doesn’t know how to answer that and he kisses her…she returns the kiss and Sam is very encouraged.  When they break the kiss, Nora still doesn’t know how to answer and he tells her she doesn’t need to answer….he will accept her reaction and wait for the words to come.  They continue to get closer and she tells him that there is something there, even though she doesn’t remember everything.  They continue to kiss and stay close.  He tells her he wants her to take Matthew and go visit her family in Chicago for a while…just get away and get the peace and quiet she deserves.  She agrees to go and asks him if he’d like to come over for a family dinner before she goes away and he says he would…then he realizes that he has completely forgotten the family dinner with the Vegas…so he rushes home.  Nora is getting ready to head home and finds Troy’s necklace…the talisman from Africa.

Lindsay and Troy

Troy brings Lindsay into his room after finding her breaking in and asks her why she was breaking in.  She tells him she wasn’t breaking in…that she thought it was her room…and that she was staying at The Palace while her bedroom was being painted.  He tells her that’s the worst lie he’s ever heard.  He tells her that he knows what she’s up to and that he figures she’s pretty worried about the papers that she somehow found out about.  She denies it and he reminds her that she can’t be trusted, especially after she tried to smother him.  She says that she didn’t do that…she was just trying to make him comfortable after Sam punched him out.  He starts talking about “Scarlet” and Lindsay now believes he’s Colin since there is no way he could know that was Colin’s nickname for Nora.  He tells her that he knows that nickname from Colin’s papers, but he didn’t know it was Nora until now.  He tells Lindsay that if she’s so curious, he will let her see the papers, but only to get a look, because if there is anything in there that indicates any criminal activity, he’s going to the police….so this is her chance to find out.  She admits that she wants to see the papers and they go through them, not finding anything incriminating.  Lindsay is satisfied and leaves.

A while later, Nora shows up at Troy’s hotel room door and doesn’t want to go in…she starts to leave a note on the door for him and he hears her outside.  He opens the door and she tells him she didn’t want to bother him but she found his talisman.  He is very grateful, because it means a lot to him, and she starts to leave when he asks her to come in.

Ben and Natalie

Ben walks Natalie into the school and she says he didn’t have to do that.  He said he wanted to see where Jess hung out and Natalie asked him to stay for coffee…she’s buying.  He agrees and while he goes to get the coffee, the snobby girls from the Break Bar start teasing Natalie about not being able to afford the shirt she’s wearing (Jessica’s).  Natalie argues with them and tries to get rid of them when Ben overhears the whole thing and comes over and shoos the girls away.  He tells Natalie that they are snotty girls and not to pay attention to them.  Natalie says that some people look down on you if you don’t have money and she tells Ben that she is grateful to be going to school and to have a job and she’s going to make something of her life.  He doesn’t doubt it and tells her that she will make more of her life than those snobby girls.  Ben says he has to leave and as he gets up and walks away, Natalie looks after him….with a calculating look on her face.

Viki and Rae

Viki is still very upset about Rae asking her to see Allison.  She tells Rae that she still has to fight to not think about what happened when Allison kidnapped Jessie and made her think that she kidnapped her own child as one of her alters, Niki Smith.  Rae is very upset that she upset Viki and Viki tells her that she just can’t help her.  Rae understands and apologizes for upsetting Viki and leaves.  Viki flashes back to Clint telling her the baby was gone and going to the crib and finding it empty.  Viki calls Zack and tells him to send over all the things that the Banner has ever printed about Allison Perkins.

Later on, Viki is reading the papers on Allison then heads up the stairs and she hears Niki’s voice.  She keeps hearing it and comes down the stairs looking confused and scared and sees, or imagines she sees Niki and Niki says, “Oh, you were so quick to think I was the one who stole your little brat, weren’t you?”

Jess and Seth

Jess still doesn’t believe that Will could trap her in the elevator.  Seth says that he only saw Will there…he didn’t see him do anything.   John Sykes comes to question Jess again, but she doesn’t tell him she knows Will was by the elevator panel.

Jess and Seth are heading upstairs and Jess hesitates at the elevator.  She’s afraid to get on it and Seth reminds her that you have to “get back on the horse.”  She agrees to go in and nothing happens…she’s safe and they get off the elevator and he asks her to go on a real date with him.  She agrees to do it.  Then Natalie comes along and Jess introduces Natalie and Seth, who appear not to know each other.  Jess says she’s going to the Administration Building to pick up some pamphlets and she’ll get some for Seth and Natalie, so she goes and they stay behind.  Seth pulls Natalie into the elevator and grabs her into a very passionate embrace and kiss.  Apparently, they have met before…LOL.

Jen, Cris and the Vegas

Jen and Cris are at Sam’s house waiting for the family dinner.  Cris notices the big computer screen in the living room and Jen tells him that one of Sam’s clients gave it to him to try out.  She shows him how it works and spells out “I love Cris” on the screen.  They wonder where Jen's family is…when Will comes home.  He says he doesn’t want to talk because he just told Jess he wants her back and she turned him down.  He goes to his room and the doorbell rings.  Carlotta and Antonio arrive and still no Lindsay or Sam. They think it’s strange that their hosts are not there and Jen is very embarrassed.  She puts out some peanut butter crackers, which are the only things to eat in the house besides hot dogs, and it doesn’t impress Antonio.  Everyone is very uncomfortable waiting for Sam and Lindsay.  Finally Jen decides she’s going to take everyone to dinner on Lindsay’s credit card.  Carlotta thinks maybe they should just reschedule and at that moment Lindsay comes in the door.  She apologizes and says they will order dinner from a good restaurant and then she spots the big computer screen.  She wonders if you can get to the Internet on that screen, pretending she knows nothing about it and Jen says of course you can.  Lindsay has a plan.  She says she’s going to call for dinner and goes outside to call Chad….they set up a plan and Sam comes in, overhearing Lindsay telling Chad on the phone that she can’t wait to see everyone’s reaction.  Sam wonders what she meant.  They realize that they both forgot the dinner and Sam is very embarrassed and apologizes, too.

They are waiting for dinner when the doorbell rings.  Molly, one of the girls from the Break Bar, comes in with dinner and she find Cris there…no surprise to her since Chad sent her.  She starts going on and on about his website and that he has bared all and she loves it.  Everyone things she has the wrong person and Cris thinks she’s crazy.  Molly goes on and on about Cris’ body and says Jen is on the web cam, too.  Will wonders if it’s true and gets the keyboard to see for himself.  Molly gives him the name of the website and there is Cris, on the big screen in Sam’s living room.  Everyone is shocked and staring at it and Lindsay just looks at Sam then at Jen.  Lindsay, of course, pretends to be as shocked as everyone else.
