ONE LIFE TO LIVE RECAP FOR FRIDAY, APRIL 27, 2001

<<< BACK TO RECAPS  INDEX

Ben is alone in Gina’s living room and calls Viki’s cell phone.  He gets her machine, of course, and tells her that they need to talk…that they can’t leave things this way…and that this is just not like her.  He is very upset and as he’s trying to leave his message, he feels someone behind him, spins around, and it’s Gina.  She surprised him by sneaking up on him and he grabbed her.  He just said, “Gina”…and she said, “Yes, and I know exactly what you want to do to me.”  Ben just stares at her and says, “I don’t want to do anything to you.”  Gina tries yet again to get Ben under her spell and he just tells her how worried he is about his wife and that he needs to find her.   She obviously wants Ben to give up on Viki and Ben says, “I am not giving up on Viki…not now, not ever!”  Gina tells him she understand…that she knows what it’s like to love someone so much that you can’t think straight.  Ben tells her that he and Viki are nothing like he and Gina as teenagers and Gina tries to get him to stop thinking about Viki, telling him to give her time and that she doesn’t understand their world…she just doesn’t relate to it.  She tries to tell him how to handle things and he says, “I don’t need lessons on how to relate to my wife.”  Gina says she was just trying to help and Ben says, “Well, don’t!”  He turns away from her and she decides to leave him alone for a while, but before she does, she wraps her arms around him from behind and says in her sexiest voice, “Emanuel is a great cook.  Why don’t you take advantage of it and eat something.”  She squeezes his arms and leaves.  He looks after her as if he can’t stand for her to touch him.  All the time this conversation is going on, Viki is sitting in the basement on the floor, not watching but listening and she is cowering like a small child….maybe Princess?????

Gina comes down to the basement, furious and loaded for bear.  She starts going off on Viki and Viki seems very disconnected and confused.   Gina says she doesn’t even see what Ben sees in her or what the magical connection is.  Viki tells Gina, “Oh yeah Gina, I must be sending him some magical messages to tell him not to want you.  I must be sending him messages and the receivers must be in his teeth.”   Then Gina says, “Oh, nice outfit.  What is that supposed to be?”  Viki says in an annoyed way, “What are you talking about?”  Gina says, “That outfit.”  Viki looks down is shocked at what she’s wearing…it’s the black skirt that she cut up…which is now above the knee with slits on the sides.  She hasn’t quite finished the outfit yet.  She tells Gina that she’s been down there way too long and she has to let her out…that she’s done everything she asked and it hasn’t worked.  Gina tells her that she wants Ben and it’s going to happen and that Viki is going to call Ben and say she’s divorcing him.  Viki tells her Ben will never believe that on the phone.  Gina tells her to make him believe it.  Viki is still behaving like the scared child and says, “If I do it, then will you let me leave?”  Gina has no idea what’s wrong with her.  Viki is very upset and still looks very “out of it” and she takes the phone.  Ben answers and Viki can’t speak.  She can’t get the words out.  Ben keeps asking if it’s her and she doesn’t answer.  Gina gets annoyed, grabs the phone and shuts it off.  Viki tells her that the words just wouldn’t come out.  Gina reminds her that her daughter can be killed, and in addition, she tells Viki that she should also remember that she has a grandchild in Texas and that anyone can be killed.  She tells Viki that she needs Ben to be by her side to run her organization.  Viki tells her that Ben doesn’t want that life any more and Gina says, “Then we’ll run the Witness Protection Program together.”  Gina says, “You know Viki, when my father died I swore that I would never lose anything I wanted ever again, and I haven’t.”  At that moment James comes into the basement and tells Gina that Ben refused his dinner and is planning to leave.  Gina tells Viki/Niki that she will be back and that they will try the phone call again, and that she should remember that she has a whole family full of people who can be killed.  Viki is left staring at the monitor, just running her fingers over it and looked very confused and disconnected.   Then you can sort of see her changing.  Gina finds Ben getting ready to walk out the door, gun in his hand.  She asks him where he’s going and he says he’s going to gets some answers.  She reminds him that he promised to stay there if she promised to think about the Witness Protection Program and that she is thinking about it.  He says, “Good Gina, let me know what you decide.”  He leaves and she is furious.  She can’t stop him.

Gina goes back to the basement and Niki is out in full force.  The slit skirt, the white tee shirt is gone, the blouse is tied up at her waist, her hair is spiked and she is all attitude.  Gina comes in and Niki just overwhelms her.  Gina reminds her that she will kill Jessica if Viki doesn’t do what she wants and Niki tells her that it won’t do her any good to kill ‘the kid’, that it won’t get her Ben and it won’t really make a difference so she better get a new plan.  Gina is shocked at her and tries to hold her ground, but Niki has taken over.  She throws Gina into a chair and Niki says, “I’m going to tell you what’s going on now.  #1…I am not Viki…I am Niki Smith….#2…I am starving down here…and #3…I could really use a drink?”  Gina just looks at her in shock and Niki stares her right in the face with the attitude.

Max is still telling Blair to prove she’s pregnant.  She tells him to get out and he says, “Forget it.  I’m not leaving.”  Blair tells him to forget she said she was pregnant.  She says, “Pretend I didn’t say it.  You know, Max, pretend like you did all the time you were lying to me.  You’re good at that.”  She tells him to leave again and he says it won’t happen.  She says she doesn’t have to prove anything and doesn’t even care if it is his baby.  He says he wants the truth.  Blair tells him she doesn’t care what he wants.  He pulls out his checkbook and accuses her of wanting money.  He asks her what it will cost him to get rid of her.  She says she doesn’t want his money and he says he knows what she wants.  She wants him to think she’s pregnant so he’ll be on her side at her trial, or drop the charges altogether.  She throws him out of the room.  She and Kelly have the pregnancy test stick with the fake positive and Kelly has to hide it behind her back when Max comes back…with a new home pregnancy test.  He tells her she is going to take that one….and she fights him on it but finally agrees.  Kelly sneaks the fake one into the box and of course, Blair comes out and it’s positive.  Max reads the box and says that there is a chance of it being a false positive, so he is taking her to the hospital for a real test.  He drags her out of the room.

Sophia comes back to Kelly and says she really needs Kelly’s help because she knows Roseanne is working with RJ and can’t prove it.  Kelly tells her she’ll have to think about a way to help her.  Sophia is desperate.  Kelly tells her to give Roseanne false information and Sophia thinks that’s a brilliant idea.

Lindsay and RJ are still accusing each other of killing Colin.  He thinks she should be grateful for taking care of the body and for planting the scarecrow in the grave to throw off the cops.  She thinks she owes him nothing.  She says, “What are you going to do with Colin’s body…put a light bulb in his mouth, a lampshade on his head and stand him up in the corner?”

Bo tells Antonio that the shipment is coming in tonight and that he has reluctantly agreed to let Cris be involved.  Bo doesn’t like it, but he admits that Cris is the only one who can get close to RJ right now.  He gathers the only 4 cops that know about the bust…Antonio, Sophia, Dave and Calvin.  He tells them the bust goes down within the hour and no matter what happens, he wants RJ.  After the cops come out of Bo’s office, Roseanne tells Sophia that Sophia might be with Antonio tonight, but she’ll be with him tomorrow.   Sophia tells her she doesn’t have time for her right now, that they are going to make a bust on RJ…AT THE DOCKS.  Sophia supposedly leaves and Roseanne makes the call to RJ, letting him know the cops will be at the docks and telling him that she is now through with him.  Little does she know that Sophia is behind the wall and has heard the whole conversation with RJ.

Jen and Cris are in the back room…still kissing…and RJ calls for Cris.  He wants Cris to get going…the shipment is coming in and Jenn doesn’t want Cris to go.  He goes out to meet RJ and Jenn overhears RJ telling him about the shipment coming in tonight at the South Street Warehouse.

Jenn is still in the back room when Lindsay comes looking for her.  Lindsay tries everything in the book to get Jenn to stop seeing Cris.  Jenn won’t hear of it, telling Lindsay that Cris would never hurt her.  Lindsay tells her that he only wants her for one thing.  She also tells her that she can never talk about Colin again to anyone…that he’s dead and for the good of the family, she must never talk about him.  Jenn tells her that she’s disgusting for saying that Cris only wants her for one thing and that she judges other people by her own sick behavior.  She tells Lindsay that Cris never did what she’s done…like sleeping with her sister’s husband, like kidnapping Nora…etc…and that she had no right to get Cris in trouble about the fake ID’s.  Lindsay reminds her that she almost died because of those fake ID’s.  Lindsay puts on the crying act and goes on and on about how she loves Jenn more than anything and no what Jenn thinks of her, she loves her more than anything and only wants to protect her.  She makes Jenn cry and then she leaves…with nothing settled.

At the warehouse, RJ tells the workers that they have nothing to worry about tonight, that the cops will be at the docks.  He goes to leave and Cris asks why he doesn’t stay.  Cris wants him there when the cops come, of course. RJ says he has confidence that the guys can take care of it and leaves.  All of a sudden, one of the guys who was standing guard drags Jenn into the warehouse.  She came to see Cris and he takes her inside and tells her she can’t stay.  She wants to know what’s going on and as he’s about to make her leave, the cops burst into the warehouse.  Cris and Jenn hide behind a crate.  The cops start grabbing the guys and Bo and another cop throw one of the guys up against old Colin’s box (nobody lets him rest in peace…LOL)…the box falls over, opens up…and there is dear old Colin lying in the box with Bo standing right over him.

Lindsay is once again at the police station to speak to Bo.  He’s not there.  She asks Roseanne how she’s doing and Roseanne says things are ok and hopefully getting better.  Lindsay tells her “Well, we don’t have to worry about Colin MacIver any more.”
