The Sun

Skye comes looking for Todd, who is sitting behind his desk contemplating his chessboard.  She is furious and calls him a bastard, telling him that she is through with being used by him and Max and she won’t be a part of his depraved game.  She tells him that even though Max, Blair and Rae didn’t believe her story, the two of them know the truth.  He pulled the rug right out from under her and she just doesn’t get it at all.

Todd tells Skye that he overestimated her; he thought she had more imagination.  When she asks him to be more specific, he points out that when Max finds out that Blair really has betrayed him, he’ll come running to her and beg for forgiveness.  She tells Todd that he can keep his games and manipulations; she’s quitting her job and leaving town.  He tells her that she’ll change her mind, as he plans on making her an offer she can’t refuse.

Skye retorts that she doesn’t want anything to do with any more offers, tricks or schemes; she has had it with everybody.  Todd tells her that she is kidding herself; she is still in love with Max (although he can’t figure out why) and can’t live without him.  She snaps that she can’t wait to try.  She points out that she has had nothing but trouble since she came to Llanview, but Todd tells her that he’s going to give her the chance to be the one making trouble.  He asks her to promise him that she’ll wait twenty-four hours before deciding to leave town and she is curious to know what could possibly change in a day.

Todd tells Skye that a lot can happen in a day.  She tells him that she wants her check and her severance pay immediately, but he tells her that it’s late and the payroll staff won’t be in until tomorrow.  She finally agrees to his terms, telling him that in twenty-four hours she’ll be through with this town.  Todd tells her to call him optimistic; he has a feeling that she’ll want to stay.  After she walks out of the office, he states that he can guarantee it.  He goes to the computer and sets the final stage of Blair’s virus into motion.

The Vixen and the Faux

A sleeping Blair awakens to find that Max is no longer in their bed.  She rolls over to look around the room and finds a gift from Max in his place.

Blair finds a beautiful dress and jewelry in the box, along with an invitation to join Max downstairs.  As she comes down the stairs, he is waiting, dressed in a tuxedo.  He tells Blair that she takes his breath away.  She thanks him for the gifts and tells him that he has excellent taste.  She mentions the invitation, saying that it spoke of a celebration of a marriage, and asks if he is referring to Ben and Viki.  He tells her that he was referring to theirs and leads her into the living room, which is filled with beautiful flowers and champagne on ice.  He puts on some music and gets down on one knee, asking Blair to do him the great honor of being his wife.  She is obviously moved, and tells him that he is making her cry and she already is his wife.  He reminds her that they got married in a tacky Vegas chapel, and they did it for money.  She deserves to have it all, the flowers, the champagne, the music and this, as he pulls a ring box out of his pocket, saying “I love you forever, until death do us part.”

Blair is moved to tears and Max asks if she plans to make him stay down on one knee all night.  She apologizes, saying that she is overwhelmed and yes, she wants to be his wife.  She has always wanted to be his wife, except this time she wants it for the only reason that counts; they love each other.  Max tells her that that is just what he wanted to hear.  He had a moment of doubt with the Skye incident, but that was because of him.  He is a con man and he conned his own wife.  He faked brain damage and she stood by him and stayed loyal until he blew it a second time in a much more hurtful way; he knows he is not worthy of her loyalty.  Blair tells him that he is and she loves him so much.  It’s like they are starting all over and it feels wonderful.  Max pours two glasses of champagne and offers one to Blair; they toast to Mr. and Mrs. Max Buchanan.

Max and Blair are sitting and snuggling on the couch.  She comments on how beautiful the ring is and that it’s actually real.  He laughs and points out that that shows how far they have come.  She asks if the two of them can get along without lies and deception.  He answers that they cannot, but the don’t have to do those things to each other.  She comments that all of their cards are on the table and all that is left is the two of them.  They head up to the bedroom for a night of love-making.

The Bar With No Name

Asa hands over the money to the hit man, telling him that if he does it right there will be a bonus in addition to his payment.  Rourke thinks that their business is concluded, but Asa tells him that he plans to wait there for the good news that Ben is dead.

The Bachelor Party

The men break up the fight between Kevin and Joey and Bo tells them that it was only a game.  Joey retorts that everything is a game to Kevin.  Bo interrupts and tells them that they need to remember where they are and why they are there.  If they can’t get along, they can take it outside.  Kevin apologizes to Ben and tells him that it’s all over.  As the young men walk away, Bo apologizes to Ben for his nephews’ behavior and wonders what it is about brothers, anyway.  He is pensive, and tells Ben that whenever he thinks of a brother, he thinks of Clint, but he has another brother now.  He hesitates for a moment, and then asks Ben if he has ever said anything that Max or Asa could have mistaken for a threat.  Ben wonders if Asa still thinks that he is responsible for the “hit” on Max.  Bo asks if heart surgery could affect someone psychologically, or exaggerate or change their behavior.  Ben tells him that it could and there is a condition called post-bypass psychosis, which can cause episodes of paranoia and even hallucinations.

Ben asks Bo if he thinks that Asa’s belief that he is after Max has to do with his surgery.  Bo admits that he doesn’t know; he is looking for a logical explanation, but it may be that Asa isn’t different at all.  He may just be vindictive and bitter.  Bo apologizes for bringing Asa into the conversation.  As he walks away, Sam approaches Ben and asks if there is any possible way that Asa could think that Max is a fraud and he is the real son.  Ben admits that the night he found out about it was the night of Asa’s heart attack, but Sam points out the Asa was unconscious, there was no way for him to have heard.

The men form a circle to toast Ben.  Hank starts out, telling Ben to make sure that he gets in the last words in every argument and that they should be “Sorry, honey!”   Kevin chimes in, asking why it is that married men live longer.  When no one answers, he quips that they don’t, it just seems longer.  Joey gives him advice on remembering his mother’s birthday.  “Just forget it once,” he states, “and you’ll never do it again.”  As the laughter dies down, Will tells them that he is going to be serious.  For many years he didn’t know that he had an uncle and now that he does, he loves and appreciates him. He holds up his glass to toast his uncle……….Barry?!?!  Bo announces that Ben is a lucky man.  In twenty-four hours he will be a happily married man and the same is true for Viki.  It is obvious that she enjoys laughter and has a good sense of humor; Ben is living proof that she can take a joke.

Sam is the last to speak.  He tells the tale of how Ben set out to prove to his father that he was responsible enough to have a puppy.  He mowed the lawn and washed the car, but that wasn’t enough, so he raked the whole yard, which was very large and then decided to burn the leaves in order to complete the job.  He burned that leaves and burned the garage down in the process.  The point of his story, Sam says, is to that when Ben wants something he goes for it and that’s just what he did with Viki.  Sam tells Ben that he will always be there for him and that he loves him.  Ben butts in, saying that they are going to push him to go back into medicine, if for nothing else so that he can surgically implant a sense of humor.

On the serious side, he states that he is lucky to have Viki and to have them as friends.  Will tells Ben that they have one more surprise for him.

The Bachelorette Party

Renee brings out Viki’s cake, which is beautiful, but has only the bride at the top.  The women remind her that she will be alone until tomorrow.  Nora hears this and becomes lost in her thoughts. Rae congratulates Viki, telling her that the two of them have come a long way.  Viki agrees, saying that is the understatement of the century.  Rae tells her that at least she knows where she is going and Viki agrees again, saying that she has Ben and his love and their commitment.

Sophia takes Sybilla aside and asks her what it was that she saw when she was reading Viki.  Sybilla shakes it off, saying that it was something vague, a black could, which could mean as little as it’s going to rain tomorrow.  She points at Kelly, who is across the room and says that she has serious man trouble.

As Rae is taking a piece of cake, Sybilla comes up and grabs her arm.  Rae asks if there is something wrong with the cake, but Sybilla tells her that she knows she is worried about getting naked and shouldn’t be – it’ll be worth it.  Rae follows her and tells her that she does have a question, one about her child.  At this point Jess stands up to make an announcement.  She calls Melanie up to assist her.  Melanie tells Viki that her friends have collected money and gotten her a very special gift; she should brace herself.  She hands Viki a box and tells her that it is a cordless blender.  Viki looks somewhat puzzled and thanks them all, but Melanie tells her that there is something more serious.  All of her generous friends have gotten together and made a contribution to the local Breast Cancer Research Committee, which Renee adds is chaired by Dr. Melanie MacIver.  Viki is more than touched and thanks all of her friends from the bottom of her heart.

Nora approaches Sybilla, telling her that she can’t remember her past, and maybe knowing something about her future would help.  Sybilla takes her hand and tells her that she can’t get a good reading; there are others involved and there is interference.  When Nora asks who, she points out Lindsay and Melanie.  Sybilla then calls Lindsay and Melanie over and asks them all to join hands.  She says that there is a thread that is connecting them that is tangled and twisted and unraveling.  She sees husbands.  One will be victorious and get the man she loves and one will get the man she deserves.  Lindsay asks about the third one and Sybilla tells her that the images have faded.

Sybilla then approaches Kelly, who wants nothing to do with her.  Kelly finally takes her hands, and the medium tells her that she sees a gray-haired man coming into her life.  Kelly laughs and says that would be okay if it were Richard Gere.  Sybilla tells her not to laugh; she has already lost the paper and could lose a lot more.  Kelly responds that the guy she loves doesn’t have gray hair and Sybilla replies that she never said it was a love interest.

At this point, we see the hit man in the hall.  He enters a room across the hall with a view of the party room and waits and watches.

Rae approaches Sybilla and asks her again about her child.  The medium tells her that she feels a bitterness and hatred from the child; it doesn’t want to be her child and will fight tooth and nail to stay a part of its family.  She points out that if the truth comes out it will have cataclysmic consequences.

Sybilla tells Jessica that she sees a Will.  Jessica agrees that that is correct.  She tells her that she sees a woman from his past and sparks and fireworks.

Sophia asks the medium if she will get what she wants and the she replies that when she gets what she wants she will lose what she loves.

Jessica tells Viki that there is another surprise for her, one that she really wants.  She sends Viki to the door and there she finds Ben.  The hit man is watching and takes aim, but can’t get a clear shot.  The two kiss and then enter the room and Viki thanks everyone.  At this point, the other men enter the room and the hit man leaves the scene.

Ben proposes that they leave all the lovely people and spend their last single night together.  Viki agrees and leaves her veil with Jessica.

John tells Rae that the night is young and invites her to howl at the moon.  She tells him that there is no full moon, to which he responds that they can howl at the sunrise, then.  He is sure that they can find something to do to pass the time.  She smiles in agreement and they leave as well.

Nora is helping Jessica pick up, but Jessica sends her home.  She leaves too, and Lindsay accompanies her.  Sam asks Melanie what Lindsay was doing there and Melanie replies that Nora brought her; Lindsay thinks they are becoming very good friends.  “Over my dead body,” Sam replies.

As Melanie is trying to leave, Bo tries to finish the conversation they started earlier.  She tells him that she would like to, but has to go and see a patient.  She promises him that they will talk.

Kelly finds Kevin in the gym and asks him what happened to his eye.  He tells her that he and Joey were going after the same rebound.  She tells him that Madame Sybilla has predicted a gray-haired man in her future and Kevin tells her that that must be him; they are going to have a long and happy life together.  As the two kiss, Joey enters the gym and tells them not to stop on his account and not to do anything on his account.  He tells Kelly that she doesn’t have to leave The Banner, because he already has.  He then warns the two that he can guarantee that they will be sorry that they got themselves into the mob life; they are not above getting into trouble and it would serve them right to see what really happens.

Jess and Will are picking up after the party.  She tells him how glad she is that things turned out well and that they can leave as soon as they have finished.  He tells her that they can stay; he has been wanting to talk to her.

The Bar With No Name

As Rourke is reassuring Asa that Mr. Gray will get the job done, the hit man returns, saying that he wasn’t able to do the job.  When Asa blows up, he points out that the DA, the Police Commissioner and one of Llanview's tops cops were with the target.  He states that he will be the one to choose the time and the place.  Asa is furious and says that he wants things taken care of tonight.

The Park

Ben and Viki are walking through the park and stop to listen to a violinist playing.  Ben remembers being there when Viki told him that she was going away.  She remembers the terrible secrets that they were keeping from each other then and he makes her promise never to go away without him again.    Ben slips the violinist a twenty to play “I’ve Got a Crush on You”, and the two fall into each other’s arms.
