<<< BACK TO RECAPS  INDEX

The Diner

In her anger, Skye attempts to choke Todd and John pulls her off of him.  She claims that Todd has set her up, knowing that she would do his dirty work.  Blair voices an opinion that she might just have been drinking again, but Skye denies it, saying that Todd changed the records in the computer.  Todd jokingly admits that it is true, saying that Blair and Max are the poster children for “true love” and he was motivated to save their marriage.  Blair, instead, sees this as another of Skye’s desperate attempts to steal Max.  Skye announces that Todd has his own agenda; he wants Blair back.

The Carriage House

Joey has accompanied Sophia home and is worried about her. She tells him to stop fussing over her and to go to work.  She’ll be fine and can take care of herself.  Joey questions her motives in accompanying Cris into the parking lot the night before, and she says that she only intended to take him home.  He was tired of watching Jess and Will and she was tired of seeing Antonio and Roseanne; what would it hurt to have a good time?  Joey doesn’t think that it turned out to be such a good time after all.  He tells Sophia that she’ll need to get a new partner when she is reinstated, as she can’t be working with someone that she has feelings for.  When she brings up Kelly working at The Banner, Joey declares that he is over her.  As he leaves for work, he meets Antonio at the door.  He tells Sophia that he knows why she took responsibility for the accident.

The Banner

Kelly breezes into Kevin’s office, obviously pleased with herself.  She presents him with an article full of “dirt” on Skye Chandler, telling him to read it and weep.  She continues that this is all information that Blair dug up on Skye some time ago and she thinks that it’s about time that Skye’s Pine Valley past came back to haunt her.  She thinks that it should be The Banner’s response to Skye’s public trashing of Rae in The Sun.

The Diner

Todd admits that he has been trying to break up Max and Blair, chiding that whenever he sees Max his hear goes pitter patter.  When Skye claims to have proof, Rae steps in, wanting to know if it’s the same kind of lies and innuendos that she used in the article about her.  Skye begs Max to believe that Todd planned the whole thing.  Blair points out that Skye is no idiot; she is desperate, but certainly not stupid.  Max wonders what Todd would get out of doing what Skye is claming.  She admits that she doesn’t know, but is certain that he changed the computer records after she left his office.

The Carriage House

Sophia says that she lied for Cris because he didn’t intend for anything bad to happen and he shouldn’t have to pay for it.  Antonio asks her if she thinks she should.  When she asks about Cris, Antonio explains that he is in the operating room; they don’t know how serious the injuries to his hand are.  Sophia tells him that he should be with his brother, but he disagrees, saying that there is nothing that he can do there and he doesn’t like hospitals.  He tells her that he has been thinking about her and Cris.  They weren’t just talking when he and Roseanne came out into the parking lot.  She tries to explain that what happened didn’t mean a thing; Cris isn’t over Jessica and was drunk and she isn’t interested in him anyway.  She put herself on the line for Cris, because he is Antonio’s brother.  Antonio tells her that he understands how she feels; he would do the same thing for her.  It has to do with looking out for each other and being loyal to the brotherhood.  Sophia is angered and tells Antonio that he doesn’t know anything about what she thinks or feels.

The Banner

Kevin tells Kelly that her article will not be published on his watch.   She argues that is the truth and the truth is news.  He tells her that trashing Skye is not news; it is a personal attack.  She throws his article about his grandfather back in his face, asking if he thought that that was a love letter.  He points out that the two situations are totally different and he won’t let The Banner turn into The Sun, saying that the article would be inappropriate and would constitute mudslinging.  At that point, Joey stops in the doorway and says that he thinks Kelly is right.

The Diner

Max is furious with Skye and tells her that he will never believe her again.  He tells her that he has learned his lesson and thinks she is a joke.  Skye lashes out at him, saying that he cannot talk to her like that, to which he replies that he doesn’t want to talk to her at all.  She reminds him that she knows some things about him that she could share with others and he retorts that there is nothing to tell and nobody would believe her anyway.  Just as she is about to reveal Max’s secret, Ben comes in.

The Carriage House

Antonio asks Sophia to repeat what she has said.  She tells him that he has no idea how she feels about anything.  Antonio stops for a moment and then admits that Sophia is right; he knows how she would react in various crises on the job and knows that he would trust her with his life, but he doesn’t know why she just went off on him.

The Banner

Kelly and Joey point out to Kevin that Skye was way off the mark about Rae, when, in fact, Rae actually saved both of their lives.  Kelly points out that they can fix things by revealing what kind of person Skye is.  Kevin reminds them that Rae has legal options available to her, but Joey isn’t convinced.  He is sure that the best that she can get is a retraction of the statement.  Kevin sticks to his guns, saying that the job of a newspaper is to print the facts.  What kind of message would they be sending out if they printed something like this.  “That we protect our own,” Kelly replies.  Joey leaves, after giving Kevin some proofs and Kevin tells Kelly that she is wrong.  When she points out that Joey is on her side, Kevin tells her that Joey isn’t worried about the story; he said what he did because he loves her.

The Diner

Ben asks Skye what is going on and John tells her just to say what she has to say.  Skye, who is visibly upset, takes a moment to think and then says that she has nothing to say.  Ben asks her if she is ok.  She tells Ben that he treated her with respect; he was a gentleman – unlike Max.  Max asks her if she has lost her last shred of dignity.  She is irate and tells Max that he better watch his back; she will be in this to the bitter end.  John tells her that she has just threatened a man’s life.  She continues, telling Max not to drop his guard; she is coming after him.  Max gets a call about Asa’s bail hearing and has to leave.

The Banner

Kelly tells Kevin that he isn’t the only one who cares about the paper.  He can’t accuse Joey of having feelings for her every time he sides with her.  Kevin points out that the situation is very hard for him, too and he doesn’t think that things are working.  He would give anything to be able to help Joey get over her.  Kevin is called away and Joey returns.  Kelly is angry and tells him that Kevin isn’t running the article just because it is her story.  “So much for freedom of the press,” he adds.

The Station House

Asa is in the holding cell when Max and his lawyer arrive.  He asks the lawyer if he has decided to earn those $3000 suits he wears.  Max tells him that it is time for his bail hearing.  After asking the officer to leave them alone, Asa’s lawyer points out that he needs to make a good impression at the hearing; he needs to keep cool.  If he isn’t, the DA will hang him over this.  Asa retorts that a lot of people are out to get him and tells Max that Nigel had a message from Skye about Blair owning B&B.  Max tells Asa that Skye’s proof was fake and that Ben has been the owner all along.

The Sun

Blair barges into Todd’s office and asks him what the hell he is doing.  She knows that Skye is not insane and she had proof with her.  When he jokes about her being possessed by aliens, Blair demands an explanation.

The Carriage House

Sophia tells Antonio that she doesn’t know why she yelled at him; she is just upset.  He tells her that he doesn’t blame her; it must be the accident.  She tells him that it isn’t and asks if he knows how much trouble she is in.  She tells him that she has been suspended and they have taken her badge.  He tells her that she shouldn’t have said that she was driving.  She has worked too hard and she can’t lose her job.

The Diner

Rae and John have sat down and ordered some coffee after the others have left.  She asks John if he is going to be too tired for trick-or-treating, although she doesn’t think they’ll see anything as scary as what they have seen here.  She can tell that he is bothered by something and he admits that he is thinking about what Skye was about to tell them.  What secret could destroy Max?  He continues to say that he can’t shake the feeling that Rae is hiding something and she tells him that he is right; she is hiding something.

The Park

Ben has followed Skye to the park.  She tells him that she stopped herself from telling Max’s secret because of him.  He thanks her.  She explains that she wanted to tell the world about Max, but that would mean that everyone would find out that he is the real son and he doesn’t deserve that; he has lost enough already.  She admits that she’d like to kill Max, but Ben points out that she can’t; Max has made a deal with the Devil.  He’s sure that she’d be better off if she let him go.  She tells Ben that she promised herself that she would never get hurt again and that she is tired of feeling second best.  He tells her that she doesn’t have to; all she has to do is walk away.

The Station House

Asa begins ranting about the Rappa-Davidsons, saying that they have taken away the people that are close to him and now they are going after his business.  They are a disease resistant infestation.  Max tries to calm him, telling him that he cannot act this way upstairs.  Asa continues, saying that now they are going after his family.  Max tells him that it isn’t true, and even if it were, the Buchanan's are strong.  He points out that nobody can hurt Asa, but if he continues talking this way, they will think that they can.  One moment of weakness can give them the advantage.  This seems to reach Asa and the three men head upstairs to the hearing.

The Sun

Todd wants to know why Blair believes Skye’s story.  Blair finds it odd that Skye had that information and wonders where she got the printout.  Todd spins another tale about a secret file, one that he didn’t manage to get rid of.  He tells Blair that Skye found it and after she left to find Max, he changed the information in order to protect her.  He is surprised when Blair tells him that she doesn’t want to yell at him.

The Carriage House

Sophia explains that she has not been suspended for having the accident, but for stealing Todd’s car.  Antonio points out that it was Cris that stole that car, but she blames herself for not being able to stop him.  She tells Antonio that Todd should be grateful that he wasn’t in the car; the steering had been tampered with.  Antonio wonders if it was their “favorite friend” and Sophia says that she saw RJ hanging around Todd’s car before the accident and she is sure that the accident was meant for Todd.   Antonio tells Sophia he is “with her”, as they start to analyze the information.

The Banner

Kelly continues to pore over the long list of Skye’s antics, reading them off to Joey.  He isn’t listening, though, but instead is just watching Kelly.  He then pulls her into a kiss.

The Diner

Rae tells John that she wants to tell him everything; he must know that.  She is afraid that her obligation to someone else could be hurting him and their relationship, but she knows that telling John the truth could hurt the other person more.  She asks John if he can live with her decision and tells him that she would understand if her were angry.  John reaches across the table and kisses her, telling her that he isn’t mad.

The Park

Ben reiterates that Skye should just walk away from her situation.  She points out that he never walked away from the mob.  When he agrees that maybe he should have, she reminds him that he is supposed to be cheering her up.  He smiles and points out that he did find his brother and Viki.  She agrees, saying that now he is the poster boy for happy relationships and asks when the “big day” will be.  “Very soon,” he replies.

The Station House

As they leave the hearing, Asa gloats that the judge couldn’t wait to let him out on bail.  Max is happy that he held it together, but Asa is sure that he didn’t even need that lawyer of his.  Max suggests that Asa take some time and head up to the lodge, but Asa tells him that he has business to attend to.  When Max informs him that he can take care of B&B, Asa tells him that it is another kind of business; Benji will soon be sitting up and taking notice; he’ll be sorry.  Max warns Asa that he can’t just go off and kill people.

The Sun

Todd wants to know if Blair is going to kill him.  She tells him that she wants to thank him instead, even though he prefers it when people want to kill him.  She knows that he can’t handle it when people care about him, but she does care about him and he cares about her, too.  She tells him that he has saved her marriage again and she wants to say thank you.  She gives Todd an innocent kiss, which seems to hold a bit more feeling than either bargained for.
