Contestants Have a Chance to Win a “Single in the City” Night-Out Package Including Dinner and Tickets to a Knicks Game
February 21, 2003– Comedy meets speed dating in The Comedy Garden’s and WE: WOMEN'S ENTERTAINMENT’s presentation of “Single in the City LIVE”, which returns to The Comedy Garden on Thursday, March 6th at 8:00PM. Tickets are on sale now for $10.00.
Ty Treadway, Dr. Troy MacIver on ABC’s daytime drama, “One Life to Live,” brings his sneaky and sexy ways to host at The Comedy Garden, with comedienne Colette Hawley (Mac and Bistro award winner for Best Female Comic).
Inspired by the WE: WOMEN’S ENTERTAINMENT reality documentary TV series of the same name, “Single in the City LIVE” mixes live stand-up comedy and speed dating to give audience members a chance to win a night-out package including dinner and tickets to a Knicks game at Madison Square Garden. Six single comedians, three women and three men, will perform for the audience and then go on two speed dates each, live on-stage with audience volunteers. The audience will judge the dates and choose their favorite couple as the grand-prize winner.
The six comedians looking for a date are Wendy Spero (Comedy Central’s Premium Blend), Ophira Eisenberg (Hot Comedy Festival), Shauna Lane (Girlcomic.net), Christian Finnegan (NBC’s Late Friday), Bang Balutanski (Chicago Comedy Festival), and Demetri Martin (Letterman, Conan O'Brien).
WE: WOMEN’S ENTERTAINMENT’s “Single in the City” is a reality series about what it’s like to live and date in New York. Each hour-long episode of “Single In The City” exposes the racy, real-life adventures of single women, as they look for love, while having fun along the way. A new season of “Single in the City” premieres in July of 2003.
