Report on the William Shakespeare play "Othello"
Written by Keria

On March 12th 2002, I attend the William Shakespeare Play “Othello”, it was held at The Pantheon Theater on 42nd St, New York, NY.

One Life To Live’s Timothy D. Stickney (RJ) was playing in the role of Othello. A few years back I read the play in high school and it is among one of my favorites Shakespeare play. When I heard that Timothy was taking part in it, I couldn't wait to see it. Before the show began, I looked in the back and sitting there was James DePaiva (Max) along with his wife Kassie DePaiva (Blair), it was nice to see Timothy's co-workers/friends come out to show their support.

On that night it was a good crowd, everyone seemed as eager to see the play just as I was. By the second scene Timothy came onto the stage, you could feel his presence while he put on a good performance. There were moments where you could hear the audience laughing, at a funny part in the play, especially when it came to the parts played by Owen Thompson (Iago) and Carl Bradford (Roderigo).

During the break, I chatted with Kassie DePaiva, she was very friendly, and she told me she was enjoying the play, and was happy for Timothy. It was then time to head back in, the play to my surprise lasted three hours. The cast in my mind did a great job, Timothy couldn't have had a better supporting cast.

After the show I asked Lesa an audience member her thoughts “I think the actors are very convincing as well as in-tune with their characters. Timothy D. Stickney, put a new perspective on William Shakespeare's “Othello” by his in-depth and believable portray of his character”.

For years I have seen Timothy in the role of R.J. Gannon and I was glad to see him take on the task that he did, Timothy played Othello with passion, energy, will, and much emotion.
