How to Become a Soap Star

Want to see yourself on TV and make lots of money? Learn how to get into the soap opera show business.

Here's How:
  1. Learn to cry on command.
  2. Learn how to act like your character's evil brother or sister.
  3. Learn to dance very well.
  4. Don't change your hair color or shave off your beard without checking with the director first.
  5. Attend a lot of celebrity parties.
  6. Lend your time and effort to charity events across the nation.
  7. Learn to kiss your fellow characters.
  8. Learn to "fake it", which can coincide with rule #7.
  9. Hire stunt people to do all your dirty work.
  10. Stay young, beautiful, and thin as long as possible.
  11. Learn how to say your lines without flinching an eye.
  12. Face the fact that your character can be recast at any time.
  13. Get on the cover of every soap magazine as possible, but stay away from the "scandal sheets."
  14. Learn how to take direction from the veteran soap stars without feeling offended.
  15. Answer all fan mail.
Tips:
  1. When approached by fans, offer to give them an autograph immediately.
  2. Have your acceptance speech ready if nominated for an Emmy.
  3. When finally after getting your "big break" in Hollywood, don't forget where it all began.
