- Learn to kiss your fellow characters.
- Learn to "fake it", which can coincide with rule #7.
- Hire stunt people to do all your dirty work.
- Stay young, beautiful, and thin as long as possible.
- Learn how to say your lines without flinching an eye.
- Face the fact that your character can be recast at any time.
- Get on the cover of every soap magazine as possible, but stay away from the "scandal sheets."
- Learn how to take direction from the veteran soap stars without feeling offended.
- Answer all fan mail.
- When approached by fans, offer to give them an autograph immediately.
- Have your acceptance speech ready if nominated for an Emmy.
- When finally after getting your "big break" in
Hollywood, don't forget where it all began.
