Ty Treadway Birth name: |
Dr. Troy MacIver on the ABC Television Network’s "One Life to Live"
Ty Treadway was the youngest of seven children, and was named Tyrus for the full name of baseball player Ty Cobb. After high school, Treadway received an athletic scholarship to attend Rider University, but later transferred to the College of New Jersey. He graduated with a degree in accounting, and went on to work at the New Jersey State Legislature as an accountant, and also worked as a computer systems engineer. Treadway also competed in the "Mr. Natural Pennsylvania" bodybuilding title, and won. From there, he decided to move to New York to pursue his modeling and acting career. Treadway did some theater and commercials, and also appeared in an issue of GQ Magazine.
Hollywood, California was Treadway's next stop. He landed a role on the television series Just Shoot Me, where he played a repairman in the episode called "Jack Vents," which first aired on November 9, 1999. Treadway also appeared in an episode of Ally McBeal, as well as doing some acting in several independent films.
Treadway was given a contract to work on One Life to Live on May 10, 2000. He was cast in the role as Dr. Colin MacIver, the estranged husband of Dr. Melanie MacIver, played by another newcomer (at that time) Darlene Vogel. His character soon took a twisted turn, which eventually lead up to his murder less than a year later. Treadway was let go in February 2001, but showed up in flashback scenes through April 2001. Treadway officially returned to OLTL August 7, 2001 as Dr. Troy MacIver.
During Treadway's hiatus from the show, he worked on an independent film, in which he co-produced and starred in. The film is entitled Or Forever Hold Your Peace, which is described as "a dark comedy about friendship, religion and family." This film won a Bronze Award for Best Drama under the category of low budget films at the 34th World Fest Houston International Film Festival. Treadway also plays the part of "Billy" in the new movie Soulkeeper.
In his spare time, Treadway loves traveling to Jamaica, and is passionate about cooking. One of Treadway's other passions is listening to rock music, including Laidlaw, Pink Floyd, ZZ Top and The Doors. He has also been dating Texas model Monica Surratt.
