GARY TOMLIN, executive producer
Gary Tomlin was named Executive Producer of "One Life to Live" in January 2001.
Mr. Tomlin's wide-ranging career in television began with roles on the Daytime dramas "Another World" and "Search for Tomorrow." He began the transition from actor to Executive Producer with writing stints on "Texas," and "Santa Barbara," for which he won a 1989 Daytime Emmy Award. He served as headwriter on "Days of our Lives," "Search for Tomorrow" and "Another World," a program for which he also directed.
In 2002, under Mr. Tomlin's leadership, "One Life to Live" was awarded its first Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series. The long-running Daytime drama also made television history in 2002 when it aired live for an entire week, May 13-17, an idea conceived by Mr. Tomlin.
As a director, Mr. Tomlin has twice been recognized with Daytime Emmy nominations, for his work on "Passions" in 2000, and during an earlier turn with "One Life to Live," in 1994. He served as a "One Life to Live" director from 1992-95, and continues to direct while he serves as the show's Executive Producer.
Mr. Tomlin was also Executive Producer for Aaron Spelling's first foray into Daytime soaps, "Sunset Beach."
