Elizabeth Reynolds on the ABC Television Network's "One Life To Live"
Barbara Niven joined the cast of "One Life to Live" in September 2002. Elizabeth Reynolds' first appearance was surrounded by mystery. The revelation of her identity will have shocking repercussions, especially for Antonio Vega (Kamar de los Reyes) who is engaged to her daughter Keri (Sherri Saum).
A native of Portland, Oregon, Ms. Niven decided to follow her dreams and pursue a career as an actress and writer. After she gave birth to her daughter, Jessica, Ms. Niven decided that there was no time like the present. She quickly landed an internship at a Portland television station, but soon realized that she was more passionate about acting than the news. While in Portland she appeared in more than 2500 radio and television commercials and served as spokesperson for numerous companies.
Ms. Niven landed her first dramatic role in the "Hallmark Hall of Fame" telefilm "The Promise," co-starring with James Garner and James Woods. Among her other television credits are "Pacific Palisades, " "The Bold and the Beautiful" -- where she played Brenda Dickerson in 1996 -- "Silk Stalkings," and guest starring appearances on "ER," "Love Boat: The New Wave," "Mike Hammer" and "Wings."
In 1998 Ms. Niven was cast in the role of Kate Anderson in the television series "Pensacola: Wings of Gold," a part that she considers to be a role of a lifetime. Also in 1998, she was cast as her favorite icon when she was chosen to play Marilyn Monroe in the HBO film "The Rat Pack." Among her other telefilm credits are HBO's "Breast Men" and the offbeat comedy "I Married a Monster." Always up for a challenge, Ms. Niven took on eight characters in the upcoming independent film "Anoosh of the Airways."
A self-proclaimed computer geek, Ms. Niven created her own website, www.barbaraniven.com, on which she runs the "Dreamers Network," a site dedicated to helping others realize their dreams. She says, "Live your dreams! Life is too short to settle for less than wonderful, and don't give up five minutes before the miracle..." Aside from acting, her greatest passion is being a mother. She relocated to New York City for her role on "One Life to Live."
