Sam Rappaport on the ABC Television Network's "One Life To Live"

Laurence Lau was born on May 10, 1954 in Long Beach, California.

Was raised in Oswego, Oregon.

Holds a first-degree black belt in Karate

Attended both Columbia and Brigham Young Universities.

Has been married twice, once to Karen Wallace and once to Linda McCullough. Now single.

For fun Lau loves books, plays, movies and art.

He loves jogging, skiing and horseback riding.

Favorite Ice Cream: Ben and Jerry's

Favorite Football Team: New York Jets

Favorite item of clothing: His black Luchese boots,

Historic figure he most admires: Don Quixote

Enjoys sculpting with clay and sketching.

Favorite movie: Lawrence of Arabia

Favorite actors: Spencer Tracy, Cary Grant and Paul Newman.

Favorite actress: Cate Blanchett.

Favorite place to travel: The Oregon coast.

Once worked as a paralegal for some well known New York defense attorneys.

His guest appearance on Happy Days involved him dressing up as Tarzan at a costume ball, and ended up winning best costume and had to get up on stage and pound his chest like Tarzan.

Took up dancing lessons shortly after getting his role on OLTL.

Played Greg Nelson from 1981 - 1986

Before landing the role of Sam Rappaport, Lau screen tested for wealthy mystery man for ATWT, as Dr. Noah Chase for GL, and nearly nabbed the role of OLTL's Dr. Colin MacIver.

Was the ninth actor to play AW's Jamie Frame. One of his leading lady's on the show was actress Anne Heche.

Is occasionally mistaken for Greg Kinnear.

Would pick Timothy Hutton to play him in his life story.
