Fan Recap for One Life to Live

By Katherine Thurston, About.com

Nat applies for a job at Rodi's, but won‘t answer the question about her marital status. She tells the boss it shouldn‘t matter, and she shows him that she can mix drinks. He asks when she can start.

Marcie talks aloud in Angel Square and longs for Al to come back. Al walks by reading a book and doesn’t see her, and he trips over her feet. Al’s character is starting to make sense, although it’s still unusual. His soul has occupied Michael’s body, but Michael’s soul isn’t free yet, so there are still parts of "Michael the jerk" that come out of Al. Al is frustrated that Marcie doesn’t recognize him. When he tries to say something nice, he blurts out, "What the hell is wrong with you? Can’t you tell I like you?" She reacts strongly and tells him to leave her alone. Afterward, Luna tells him not to give up, so he begs Marcie for another chance and offers to buy her a drink.

Nora and Bo discuss John McBain. Bo says that Michael is a loner, and his job is his life. His instincts are always correct, and a couple times a year the bureau brings him to Quantico to actually teach the teachers. He also likes to do his own thing, so Nora can’t wait for him to meet Daniel.

In his apartment/sleazy motel room, John sets out a picture of his mother (who is a singer), and he listens to records that make him smile (possibly his mother’s voice?). Antonio brings pizza, and they discuss the murder case, trying to find a connection among the victims. John talks about each victim, and when he mentions that the first victim worked at a club called Scintillating Sensations, Antonio pulls out a matchbook that he found near Elyssa’s body. Its logo? Scintillating Sensations.

At Rodi’s, Marcie introduces Natalie to "Michael." Natalie recognizes his last name and finds out that he is John’s brother. When Al gets the drinks, Marcie tells Natalie that she felt Al’s presence for awhile and that he probably appeared because she needed it. She tells Nat that Chris is still around and wants her to be happy, but Natalie gets upset and leaves. Al returns to the table and makes a rude "Michael" comment, and Marcie throws a drink in his face, telling him that she doesn’t need to get to know him.

In Angel Square, Gabby runs from a homeless man who wants money. Later, he grabs Natalie and says some things that don’t make sense. She gets spooked and tells him to leave her alone just as Antonio and John arrive. Antonio recognizes him as Old Pete, and he leaves to take him to a shelter. John asks Nat if she’s okay, but she says she’ll never be okay. He tries to touch her shoulder, but she tells him not to touch her, and she leaves. Al walks by, recognizing John as his brother, and they go have a drink together.

Nora tells Bo that he needs a break, and they play chess in her office while they discuss Gabrielle. Bo worries that he can’t get through to her, but Nora tells him that people need to grieve in their own way. He agrees, remembering his own experience with Drew.
