Fan Recap for One Life to Live

From Written by Jennifer Faulkner

The woman with John is Caitlin's sister, Kathryn. She remembers the look in his eyes when Caitlin died. She was afraid if they started talking about Caitlin, they might not stop, and she still can't bear remembering what happened. John says they should just focus on the trouble she's involved in now. He leaves to find Paul, and she stays in the apartment in case she's being followed.

Two strange people named Kay and Kyle approach Nigel. They speak in robotic-type sentences, and they are looking for John and Caitlin's sister. Nigel tells them John left, so they ask about the woman. They say they are from the SIB (Secret Investigation Bureau), and they head upstairs without Nigel's permission. John sees them, and he quietly motions for Roxy.

John asks Roxy to hide Caitlin's sister, and she knows the perfect spot to hide her. She grabs Kathryn's arm and jerks her down the hall! Roxy and Kathryn interrupt Michael and Marcie's perfect night. Roxy sits down at their dinner table and helps herself. Kathryn says she's just an old friend of John's, but Roxy, Marcie, and Michael all look at her suspiciously.

At Ultra Violet, Paul and Nat play a friendly game of ‘truth or dare'. He dares her to dance with him, and she asks him what's the worst thing he's ever done. Of course, he forgets to mention that he once switched some babies around. They flirt a little, and their flirting leads to a passionate kiss which John sees as he walks in! What an embarrassing moment for Natalie when John interrupts. After a little bickering match with Paul, he drags Paul out of the building. When Nat starts to chase them out, Rex stops her. She protests that John just took away her drinking buddy, but Rex tells her the whole thing looked like trouble, and she should stay out of it.

While he holds Paul against the wall outside, John calls Nigel and tells him to send Kyle and Kay to Ultra Violet. Paul wants to know what's going on and denies knowing Caitlin's sister. Natalie stumbles outside drunk, asking John if he's really crazy enough to arrest Paul for kissing her. John tells her Paul is involved in something with a friend of John's. Natalie says rather jealously and sarcastically, "Oh, is this the "friend" who went up to your room, that woman friend?" John chuckles somewhat, but he tells Nat he doesn't have time for this. Paul tells her he's fine and he'll be back in no time. She sulks when they walk away.

Back with Paul in his apartment, John thanks Roxy for her help. When she leaves, Kathryn gives Paul a blow that sends him to the floor. Roxy and Nigel speculate about what's going on with Paul, John, and Kathryn. Roxy says maybe Paul and Kathryn are long lost lovers, and John is bringing them back together. However, Nigel doesn't see Detective McBain as a matchmaker. Nat arrives and asks if Paul is still with John, but Roxy says whatever is going on is a secret. Nat still looks jealous and left out.

In John's room, Kathryn reminds Paul about the smuggling ring, but he insists that he doesn't know what she's talking about. He says John shouldn't stand by and let this woman treat him like this. Kathryn tells Paul there are two people after her, and the only way they are going to get to her, is over Paul's dead body. She pulls out a gun, and he panics. He admits that he took the money, but he didn't know anything would come down on her head. He begs her to put the gun away. He swears he didn't know what he was being paid to smuggle, and he grovels on the floor as she holds the gun above him. He promises he doesn't have the money anymore, except for maybe about $6,000. She lets him go, but tells him not to go far because they're taking a trip together. When Paul leaves, she looks at John. "What am I going to do now? I'm dead."

Paul flies downstairs and runs into Nat. He says everything was just a big misunderstanding, and Kathryn had him confused for someone else. Nat isn't fooled. She tells Paul he looks kinda desperate, but he says she was correct before, and John just grabbed him for kissing her. Paul tells Nat that Kathryn is spending the night with John. He says John and Kathryn deserve each other.

When Marcie and Michael are finally alone, they dance and laugh together. Michael hopes John isn't getting involved in something stupid. Marcie tells Michael she's ready to make love.
