One Life to Live Recap for Tuesday, March 23, 2004

During this two-hour explosive crossover, Pine Valley residents search frantically for Babe and Bianca while Paul stages a plane crash in order to steal Babe's baby and give it to his sister, Kelly. As we merge into OLTL an hour into the program, Paul waits for Kelly to claim her new son. When she arrives, she takes the baby in her arms with tears in her eyes. "He's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. How did you do this, Paul?"

Todd waits outside for Kelly, and he gets impatient when she takes too long. He thinks he has a better chance with Blair if Kelly and Kevin have a baby. While he waits, he makes a phone call and tells the recipient to find out information about Paul Cramer. Inside, Paul tells Kelly it doesn't matter where the baby came from; all that matters is that he's hers. She doesn't understand how someone could give up such a beautiful baby. Kelly insists he tell her where the baby came from, because she herself just lost a baby, and she doesn't want to do that to another mother. However, Paul tells her the mother doesn't want the baby. She wants to know why he decided to help her, and he says he saw how much she loved the baby she lost. "This baby was meant to be yours, Kelly," he says.

Kevin is angry when he learns that Viki gave Todd a job, and he's worried that Todd will keep stalking Blair. Kevin can't quit ranting about it, and he wants to call Viki and tell her she made a mistake, but Blair says he's just upset about Kelly and he's trying to take it out on someone. Kevin agrees that he's worried about Kelly. Maybe something is wrong with the baby.

Paul urges Kelly to take the baby home to Kevin. With a tear-stained face, Kelly tells him she doesn't know how to thank him, but he tells her to be a good mom and love the baby and give him a good family. Kelly promises to do that, and she kisses Paul on the cheek as she leaves. After she's gone, Paul almost has a look of "What have I done?" on his face.

Carlotta tells David she can't lie any longer. She says Antonio deserves to know the truth about Adriana. David says she'll protect Adriana by sticking to the story. Besides, he says Carlotta can't back out without talking to Dorian first. She agrees to keep the secret awhile longer.

Michael spies the Chief of Staff sticking his nose in some files that might be off limits. Jess worries that Viki's cancer returned, but Viki assures her that she's fine. She convinces Viki to go to the hospital immediately even though Viki doesn't think there's a problem. At the hospital, when Jess tells Dorian she's worried about her mother, Dorian says she's worried too. Later, Dorian tells Viki that tests reveal Viki had a mild heart attack.

In Todd's penthouse, Kelly thanks him for letting her and the baby stay, and she thanks him for shopping for her. When he offers to fix some formula for the baby, Kelly says she's going to try breast-feeding him because that's what she had planned on doing with her baby. Todd replies, "Well, I guess that would make it look more legit." Kelly responds by saying she doesn't think she can start a family based on a lie. She needs to tell Kevin that she lost their baby, and their new child deserves the truth as well. She says Kevin will understand, but Todd says Kevin's love will end as soon as he finds out the baby isn't his. If he finds out the truth, he'll make Kelly return the baby, and then he'll run straight to Blair. Kelly says Todd just wants her to lie because he wants to be with Blair, and he agrees that he misses his family and doesn't know how he can make it without them. "Just one more ‘very little' lie, Kelly," he says. "We both get what we want." However, Kelly wants to speak with Dorian first. Todd tries to talk her out of it, but she replies, "Wait--you don't get a say in this! You wanted to be involved, but I'm handling this my way. You got it?" Todd agrees to get Dorian.

Blair tells Kevin not to worry. "Kelly would call you if anything was wrong. She couldn't go through something like that without you." He says he felt like he missed out on so much with Duke living with Leanne, and now he gets a second chance. He says work will always be important, but at the end of the day, he wants a family to go home to. David arrives and spits out his vision for Craze, and they love his ideas! Kevin welcomes him to the magazine, and David says he feels like they should hug.
