One Life to Live Recap for Friday, March 19, 2004

Todd accepts a job at The Banner. Viki tells him Kevin won't be working with him because he's busy with Buchanan Enterprises now. She tells Todd he needs to let go of his vendetta. He says she looks sick and asks if she's okay. She's just under stress because of everything that's going on. She tells him to start rebuilding his life. When she leaves, he says to himself, "Yes indeed, rebuild my life--destroy Kevin's."

In Texas, Kevin tells Renee he can't find Kelly, and his son Duke won't talk to him. Renee says Duke came by the ranch earlier in the week, and he feels alienated from Kevin. Asa had made the mistake of mentioning Blair, and it reminded Duke of how often LeeAnn and Kevin fought. In addition, Kevin's marriage to Cassie failed, and just when Duke was getting used to Kelly, he hears about Blair. Renee tells Kevin, "Duke loves you very much. Once he sees things are better with Kelly, maybe he'll come around."

Michael(Al) and Marcie spend the day together. She works on her novel while he helps her create the characters, but she has a difficult time writing while he nibbles on her neck. Eventually, he's called to the hospital, and she continues her book.

As reporters swarm around John, Haver is brought through the crowd. He yells "Hello Johnny! I hope you enjoyed our little game together. Remember we all kill the things we love in the end." He looks John in the face and boldly says, "CHECKMATE." Suddenly, a gunshot is heard through the crowd as everyone drops to the floor. Bo and John raise their guns and search the courthouse, but they don't find the shooter. On the floor, Haver smiles as he bleeds to death.

Todd calls Duke. He says, "You made the right move, Duke. Your dad needs to know he can't go throwing women around like that.

Nat remembers her kiss with John and how humiliated she felt. Rex interrupts her thoughts and asks if she's okay since Haver made her think Cris was alive. She says she's okay, and she knows Cris isn't coming back. Roxy saunters over and asks what Nat was thinking about. Roxy says, "I hope you were on the love boat cruisin' along with John McBain." Nat looks at her and yells, "Stop it! Just stop it! We are just friends!"

Bo yells for everyone to step back, and he and Nora worry Haver will die before the ambulance makes it. When the paramedics arrive, Bo tells them he needs Haver alive. A woman approaches Bo and says she saw who shot Haver. She points at John. Bo tells her she is mistaken because John is a police officer. She replies, "Well, all I know is I saw him with a gun." John finds a gun in the garbage, and they seal it up as evidence.

Roxy agitates Nat because she won't listen to Nat's insistence that she and John are only friends. Rex tells them his plans to turn the old theater into a restaurant. Roxy throws her ideas at him. "We should call it Rex and Rox's! Or Rox and Rex's!" Viki arrives to get a manicure, and she asks Nat how her date went with John. Nat explains that it was cancelled, but they went to Eve's concert together. Nat notices that Viki's nails look really pale. She takes Viki to the doctor, although Viki insists she's fine.

At the hospital, Michael (Al) tells John that Haver is stabilized, but he doesn't know if Haver will live because he has massive internal injuries. Michael (do I really have to call him that?) tells John he's excited about their family living together. "You're different, Michael," John says. "It's Marcie, isn't it? She changed you." Michael replies, "She makes me so happy. She's amazing."

Roxy gives Rex her crazy ideas for his new restaurant. She thinks they should have girls dressed up in feathers, and they should sway on swings above all the tables! She suggests that all the waiters and waitresses dress up like birds in order to keep the feather theme! haha!

Blair gives Jack a party. Matthew tells Starr he wants her help to get Nora and Bo together. When Kevin arrives for the party, Starr tries to shut the door on him. Todd leaves a huge package outside the door, and he rings the bell. Bo arrives after Matthew calls him, and Blair tells Bo that Todd violated the court order by coming to the house, but Bo says they can't prove Todd brought it.

Marcie makes a lot of progress with her novel, but suddenly her computer freezes. She starts begging and pleading for the computer to give her back the pages!

When Nat takes Viki to the hospital, she sees John. Viki talks to the doctor, while Nat and John try to make awkward chitchat. Nat finally says, "About that kiss. I know it was stupid and it was nothing" and she tries to play it off, but John tries to tell her it wasn't "nothing." However, Viki returns with forms to fill out, and they insist that she's not interrupting.
