One Life to Live Recap for Thursday, February 19, 2004,cont.

From Written by Kaydee, for About.com

Todd testifies about the complicated but very deep-rooted connection that makes Todd and Blair. How he was all of the things that everyone knows of him, until he met her. He recounts the events of New Year's Eve, and is truthful about the rage that existed that night. He did indeed burst through her door, and he admits grabbing a hold of her, but it was just to make her face him eye-to-eye, so that she could look at him and not deny that she still loved him.

And her love was there...and yes the sex was intense, and maybe rough, but there was no rape. He is not that man any more, the one who hurt Marty Saybrooke. He begs the jury to believe ANYTHING they want about him..just not that. He would never hurt Blair. Blair stands up and blurts out: Oh, the HELL you wouldn't, Todd! All you ever do is hurt me! What do I have to do, DIE, before you stop?

Naturally, the judge calls for order, and Nora instructs Blair to remain cool, then the judge makes a threat to remove Blair...yada, yada. Blair gets up to leave, and Dorian follows. Nora asks for a recess. Out in the hall, Dorian's attempts to assure her are met with a thanks, but go away, and enter Kevin Buchanan. He sees Blair in a state, and after a few shared Todd bashes, they share a hug, which is clearly viewed by a jealous Todd. Viki's eyes follow her brother's gaze and sees the exchange, as well as Starr peeping out from behind a guard.

Cross-examination brings out the classic rage in Todd, which Nora in turn uses to show the jury that although Todd may love Blair, he has a pattern for taking what he wants without regard for other people, ESPECIALLY if those people are considered his. Closing arguments? Nora paints the picture of Todd the college rapist, and Todd repaints a self-portrait of a man, who is admittedly an emotional abhorration, but who has an untouched, sacred love for Blair, and who could never hurt her.

The court is recessed. Todd and Blair go their separate ways. In the holding cell, Todd is tossed inside by the sarcastic guard, who tells him top sleep well, because the way things are looking for him, the jury will be returning first thing in the morning.

AL/MARCIE/JESS & THE LAW:

This is a crossover scene, folks. We go back to Marcie and Michael-Al. Marcie is still disturbed by thoughts of John. She tells Michael that he has to break the ice with John and convince him to rid himself of the guilt. Michael is touched by her persistence and agrees, eventually, to take her advice.

John and Bo are still rattled, and Jessica comes into Bo's office. She asks them how the murder investigation is coming along, and Bo mentions that they think Haver stood them up. Jessica matter-of-factly tells them that he couldn't have stood them up, he told her that he was on his way down here. WHAT?? YOU SPOKE TO HIM?

Yeah. What did you say to him. I told him the truth. I told him that you guys suspected him of involvement, and..

You just can't be that stupid, John bursts out. You really can't possibly be that stupid. What's the MATTER with you?(WOO-HOO, John! SOMEBOD had to say it!)

Bo tries to intervene, but they're going at it. Jessica defends Steven, he's innocent! You're obsessed! He didn't kill anyone! He's innocent!

Oh, yeah? John says, Then why did he run? DUH! John races out the door and barks out commands to his officers to find Haver, while Jessica remains behind, trying to apologize to her uncle.

He isn't interested in apologies, he just wants the details of her conversation with Haver. John enters, saying that it doesn't matter, it's too late. What are you talking about? Jess says snottily. It could mean that you may have cost Rae Cummings her life.

Flash to Rae..she has managed to move that big piece of furniture, which led to a vent, which led to the street. After a haggling trip, she makes it to a pay phone, only to be chloroformed and dragged back to her place of captivity before she can call anyone. Later, as John and Bo restlessly pace the floor, with John darting a few glares through the glass window at Jessica, the phone rings. Stephen taunts them. He mockingly apologizes for his absence, he got tied up.

Rae is bound and gagged in a chair behind Stephen, and he is flicking a cigarette lighter as he tells John about what he learned from Jess Buchanan. John attempts to do dome damage control, labelling Jessica an overeager headline hunter, and tries to rearrange their meeting. John tells him to be careful...everything is not what it seems.

Stay tuned , folks, as I go on a mission to find the best way to vanquish Jessica. Any comments or ideas to improve this mission, please feel free to write me at:Kaydeeshouse@aol.com
