Fan Recap for One Life to Live

From Written by Jennifer Faulkner

Al/Michael and Jen apologize to Marcie. Jen tells Marcie that Michael really cares about her, but Marcie tells Jen she’s moving out. Jen is shocked that Michael is the reason she’s moving out; she didn’t even think Marcie liked him. Marcie breaks down and says maybe she’s not ready to admit that she likes Michael because she’s not ready to admit that Al is gone. She says Jen would have noticed that if she wasn’t so wrapped up in trying to arouse any guy she meets. Marcie says she can’t believe it took this long for her to figure Jen out. She thought they were friends, but when she really needed a friend, Jen wasn’t there. Tearfully, she tells Jen that she doesn’t want to be around her anymore. She says if Jen wants to stay on her path of pushing people away, then the only person she’ll have left is Lindsay. Jen is pained by Marcie’s words.

Rex and Lindsay take another roll in the hay, and she says Jen can never know. Kelly’s doctor assures Kevin that Kelly is okay, although she needs bed rest. He tells Kelly he’ll take care of her. He promises never to leave her.

John and Nat find a picture the killer posted on the wall. The photo shows John with a bullet wound lying next to his dead fiancé. Natalie starts to remove it to spare him from looking at it, but he says police need to inspect it. He tells Nat his girlfriend was killed during a burglary. The thief shot them because he panicked, but John blames himself that he couldn’t save her. Nat says she may not have been there, but she knows how far John would go to save someone he cares about. Still, John says what he did wasn’t enough, and now this serial killer is rubbing his face in it. She takes his hand, “You’re a smart brave cop, and you’re a good guy.” He stares at their clasped hands and then at her (shivers down my spine). The moment seems frozen, but the sound of sirens interrupts their stare.

A crying Starr tells Viki that Todd plans to confess, and she’ll never see him again. Viki tells her that she might feel better if she forgave Blair. Dorian tells Viki that she and Blair fought, and she can’t find Blair. Todd tells Viki he doesn’t know what to do besides plead guilty. He doesn’t want Starr going through the pain of a trial.

Blair hides from her problems at The Bendin’ Elbow. The bartender won’t let her drive because he thinks she’s drunk, but she’s acting funny because of her head. When he calls a cab, she leaves.

Luna gives Al five minutes to comfort Marcie in spirit. With one of her favorite songs playing, Al approaches her for a dance. She cries and laughs when she sees him. He holds her close, “I can’t explain it now, but you have to give Michael another chance.” She doesn’t want to listen, but her future daughter, Gabrielle, appears and tells Marcie to trust him. He reminds her to look into Michael’s eyes. The moment ends.

Dorian complains about Kelly’s health, but Kelly assures her that she’s fine. Dorian tells her that Blair might drop the charges because she’s worried about Starr. Dorian can’t find Blair. Blair calls Kevin; she wrecked her car, but she doesn’t want anyone to know because she’s afraid she’ll lose the kids. Blair asks him not to tell Dorian, but he does tell Kelly where he’s going. When she complains, he says maybe they can trust David to go instead, but Kelly tells him to go. He kisses her.

Michael/Al sees Marcie enjoying a song, and he tells her that he loves the group who’s playing. Simply Red is Marcie’s favorite too. He tells her that his kiss with Jen meant nothing.

Jen visits Rex. She worries she’ll have nobody left when she’s done pushing people away. He says, “You’ll still have me,” and he kisses her. It turns into more, but the phone interrupts them. Michael has called with a suggestion for Valentine’s Day. He wants to have Simply Red sing at Ultra Violet. Later, Rex and Jen pick up where they left off, but when she is in the bathroom, the phone rings again. Rex, thinking it’s another distraction, lets it ring, but Lindsay’s sexy voice comes through loud and clear on the answering machine, “I’m soaking in a hot hot tub, and I’m .…” Rex quickly picks up the phone, but not before Jen hears. “Was that my mom?” she asks.
