OLTL was changed from a half-hour program to forty-five
minutes in 1976.
Both characters Mel Hayes and Ian Armitage died in a plane
crash on two separate occasions.
Phil Carey (Asa) was born July 15, and his fellow actress
Patricia Elliott was born July 21. Both actors were born
under the astrological sign of Cancer.
Robin Strasser (ex-Dorian) has a second home in the resort
community of Ojai, located in Southern California.
Teleprompters and cue cards were removed from the set back
in 1988, which means all the actors and actresses must
have their lines memorized each day.
On the average, five new sets are created for the show
each week.
Don Jeffcoat once was the Host for a Nickelodeon game show
called "Wild and Crazy Kids".

Clint Buchanan's first name was originally suppose to be
Chris, but the actor convinced them to use his real first
name instead.
The oldest set still in use today is the Lord Library, it
has been renovated four times since it was first created
back in 1968.
OLTL won the 1999 Emmy Award for Best Direction and
Composition and for the original song entitled "When
I Think of You"..
OLTL won the 1999 Emmy Award for Best Live &
Direct-To-Tape Sound Mixing.
Bo Buchanan's first year in Llanview as Asa Buchanan's son
was back in 1979. The role was originated by Robert S.
Woods, who has been playing the role ever since.
