Marty needs to be taken off the show. She can’t act and she needs a new job. John and Natalie were meant to be together from day one. same as todd and blair. Bring gigi and rex back to where they were also. This soap is not holding our attention like it should. I am getting bored with it. We need some new action. Mitch was an added attraction. He is a b—–d.
There really is no one for John but Natalie was pretty good for awhile until she got too possesive.Blair worked better with John than Marty ever has so he should either be with Natalie or Blair,Blair is a Town Bike so she has no problem being with anyone else besides Todd. There are 3 women on the show that belong with Todd and there is no one else for them Blair most easily gets past Todd.The first is Marty regardless of the Rape a long time ago they found love together they enjoyed.Marty (Marty and Todd had some great love scenes almost as good as Tea and Todd.) just had to get past the prior violence.To have a great relationship with Todd if she had kept his child instead of having the chemical abortion they would have had a even closer bond and Marty may have fulfilled her last chance to have another child.Tea and Todd have a Great loving relationship when Blair stays out of the Romance and now she has Danielle by Todd and once know that relationship will first have a storm but can settle in later to be great.Blair and Todd have 2 kids together and there is love between them but this relationship is too stormy and tired it needs a break.But Todd shouldn’t marry any of the 3 of them.Istead they should all use him when they want to be loved.As for Cole he can get over it because of Star and Hope.and having to have a relationship with Todd.To break up Marty and John she has to sleep with Todd and get pregnant again and keep the baby.Finding out John would end it and could go back to Natalie.
I agree with Kathy, Marty can’t act. She has the same sick expression on her face no matter what the situation. (Are her four front teeth really hers?)
Once Mitch, Jared and Stacy are out of the way, can we have some new and exciting scripts and characters. No lose ends are ever tied up nor happy. We need happy now and then : ) If anything, can we have a Rex and Gigi wedding…..pleeeease. Can’t believe Mitch is Rex’s father….You could do better than that. (That makes Natalie Rex’s sister and mother?) Nora and Bo belong together too, with a little drama here and there in their lives.
Love David and Roxy. They add comic relief.
Here’s hoping for new and exciting scripts and characters.
One down, one to go. John should and NEEDS to be with Natalie, and so the next obstacle is Marty. She and John are possibly the winning contender for “worst soap couple of all time”, so let’s ditch this disaster and let both characters shine far, far away from one another.

I just want ot state my view
Susan Haskell can act, I love her as Marty. She’s been the role since 1992 and great at it. (I know, except Christina Chambers briefly in 2006-2007) I really enjoy her!
Stacy needs to stay–and Mitch too, as long as the writers don’t make him annoying. We need drama, that’s what soaps are about! Happy=BORING. I don’t wanna watch a group of suburban citizens gossiping over coffee & discuss plans for weddings , school & fundraisers from day to day. blahhh
Well, Duh! If Thorston Kaye isn’t moving to LA for All My Children….Then Duh! Patrick didn’t die after all…just like Jessie and Angie. I think Marty never had chemistry with John!
To add to Patrick coming back…I think they need some action from the mafia again and pin Carlo Hesser against Patrick or somebody else from the past…maybe Marco Dane!
I’m trying to get this straight. Is the character that played Patrick (Marty’s dead husband) on AMC? I don’t understand your comment Carla.
I know Susan Haskell (Marty) won the daytime Emmy, but I don’t know why. I liked the other Marty (Christina Chambers?) much better. I know the current Marty has been on a long time, but that shouldn’t make it written in stone. There’s no chemistry at all between her and John. And those HUGH teeth! She must have a great personality (or something) to get Zach (AMC) to marry her in real life.
P.S. When some of you guys use the actor’s real names when commenting, without referring to their character name, those of us who don’t read the soap magazines don’t know who you’re talking about!

Yes, actor Thorsten Kaye played Patrick Thornhart on OLTL. He currently plays Zack Slater on AMC. He and Susan Haskell (Marty) are married in real life.
Mark R. Thorsten Kaye and Susan Haskell are NOT married in real life. They have lived together since they met on OLTL, and they share two daughters, but they are NOT married. If you’re gonna act like you know it all, get the facts straight.
Carla (7). Just FYI the actor that played Marco Dane (Gerald Anthony) is no longer living. He actually committed suicide a few years ago…so if they brought Marco back, he’d be a different actor. Could you imagine 2 characters named Marco…even if they are spelled differently, lol!
Mark R. once again, I’ve typed faster than I could think, so I apologize about sounding harsh in my above statement. It annoys me when I read soap magazines, and the editors write false information, or don’t know the shows history…it’s their job, they should be able to get the facts straight. The Soap Opera Digest editor wrote something incorrectly last week about the OLTL’s history, and that annoys me, because it’s THEIR job. So I apoloigze that I was holding you to my standards that I hold them. I appreciate that you know so much about the show, and I call always rely on oyu for answers that I mght not know!
Mark H. Thanks, I just really don’t think I come off as a know it all. I offer information I know–i truely thought they were married. I also know alot about the show (been watching almost 20 years–since I was 10). Certain things I forget once in a while. I’m just providing info about the show I loved for so long
I stopped watching all the ABC soaps many, many yrs ago and just started watching OLTL again in April when I became aware of the possible pairing of Cristian and Layla after seeing some youtube clips. I don’t like the character of Marty at all, not that impressed with the actress, think it’s ridiculous to have her paired with John…a guy that won’t express anything to anyone at any cost..lol I also don’t the Natalie character and actress that portrays her. She totally over acts, has no sex appeal at all. I saw the clips of John with Evangeline…now that was hot! I know that she left over a contract dispute and lays in a “coma” but think it would be great if they brought her back and paired her with John. I didn’t like her as much with Cristian.
For someone who just started watching again in April, you’re really up on John’s love life, nancylp1111. I agree with you about John and Evangeline being a hot couple. Too bad you didn’t see that storyline. Natalie could never compete with her. And they could converse, which is a stretch for John. I wish they’d bring her out of that coma. But I thought she left to start a family.
John and Natalie BELONG together! These two have such a powerful connection. They sizzle whenever they are in the same room. Marty who??
John for what ever reason doesn’t do “Couples” very well, Just can’t handle/nail it. He moves from one female love of his life straight to the next..not very impressive.
Johns shinning moments are when he is working with the department crime solving. Comes across more reelaxed and comfortable in his enviorment dealing with Bo and the boys.
My Advice ladies, Run when you see John Mcbain coming.
shannon – You make a very good point. John DOES seem uncomfortable around women. He’s gun-shy and can’t commit. Even when he’s making love to them it seems robotic. In fact, I’ve never seen him emotional or passionate. Now that I think about it, even when he was with Evangeline she was the more involved one!
