REFLECTIONS BY JILL for March 24, 2008

From Jill Berry, for About.com

And getting back to Dorian, AGAIN, she can’t keep from throwing a monkey wrench into her relationship with her daughter, can she? Adriana quickly figured out that Dorian was behind the scheme to keep her in Paris so she wouldn’t have time to make plans to marry Rex and it never seems to dawn on Dorian that anyone will figure out what she’s up to. I guess having been on the receiving end of Dorian’s schemes so many times, Adriana has a sixth sense about these things but it was fun to watch when she finally figured out that Dorian was still trying to keep her from marrying Rex by meddling with her contact in Paris. I have no doubt that Dorian is going to bounce back yet again from this betrayal of her daughter because now she knows about Gigi and Rex is going to make it easy for Dorian to ruin his relationship with Adriana by paying so much attention to his old flame and her son. Dorian will rationalize her plotting by hoping that Adriana will let her be there to help her pick up the pieces when Rex breaks her heart.

Wow, Starr didn’t realize what she was getting into when she went over to Marcie’s house and tried to get revenge on Todd for what he’s been doing to her. Starr didn’t think things through too well when she told Marcie that Todd was abusing Tommy and that Marcie should take him back. She didn’t realize that Marcie would not get Tommy back and that he’d go to another foster home. Although she lied about Todd hitting Tommy, I can’t really blame her for what she did because let’s never forget that Starr learned from the master. Many times when she’s been in a jam, her first impulse was to handle things the way she always saw her dad handle things, deceitfully. However, the difference between Starr and Todd is that she has a very big streak of goodness and honestly inside her and she couldn’t go through with the lie when she found out what she’d be stirring up. She came forward and told John the truth instead of digging herself a deeper hole, which is the opposite of what her father would do. Todd has gone over the edge and Starr is beside herself trying to make him understand her and listen to her. As usual, Todd only hears what works for him so when he found out that Starr had visited Marcie, his first impulse was to believe she was going to see Cole. I was glad that Starr told him the truth about what she did. It’s just too bad that he saw it as a betrayal and not as what it really was. He couldn’t see that he had hurt Starr so badly that she would go so far as to try to take his son away from him and he also couldn’t see that her lying to get back at him was a very big and distasteful page out of his own book. I hope he’s proud.

I am furious with Blair. What is wrong with her? I don’t see how she can stand by and let Todd run their lives behaving like a prison warden. The last straw for me was when Langston came home and Todd had the nerve to take her purse and dump it out, searching it for any notes or messages from Cole to Starr. I was shocked and appalled and I couldn’t believe that Blair could just stand there and let him do it. Langston wasn’t going to object because she’s terrified of Todd and more than that, I’m sure she figures that if she brings any outside attention to that house, she could very well wind up back in foster care. I thought it was small comfort that Blair told Langston that when she offered to bring her into their home she didn’t expect it to be like this. Those kids were pretty dumb to arrange for Cole to come to the house to see Starr while Blair and Todd were out and you just knew they’d get caught. Will Blair blow the whistle on Cole? Hopefully she’ll know that it would be his death sentence, but fireworks are bound to erupt now.

The only glimmer of hope I had where Blair was concerned was when Todd told her that the old Todd was back because the new and improved Todd wasn’t working for him and she told him that she only stayed married to him because she liked the new Todd and that she didn’t want the old one back. Actually, she was pretty stupid to think that the “New Todd” would last even five minutes. I don’t even think it was that long.

Things are just getting too contrived on this show lately. I am talking about Lindsay and her involvement in B.E. Are we supposed to believe that after all these years she still has possession of all of Sam’s old files and that she keeps coming up with dirt on everyone who just happens to give Clint and Bo a problem? Sam was a well-respected attorney and even though I’m sure he had his share of shady clients, I think the writers are going to the point of ridiculous when they have Lindsay popping in every time there is a crisis with dirt on the person trying to hurt B.E. And if Sam did leave files behind, wouldn’t Nora be the one to have possession of them? Like I said, way too contrived.

I think Antonio needs a good wake up smack in the head. I am tired of seeing him moping around being depressed over losing his fortune. Sure, he lost the money he thought would secure Jamie’s future, but hey, he wanted to give all the money back without fighting for it and he’s being ridiculous. He never had any money growing up and he has a good job where I’m sure he earns a decent living. He has sold Capricorn to Blair so he has a nest egg for Jamie again. Why doesn’t he just suck it up and quit moping around like somebody died? He has a good job, a nice place to live, a loving family, a good woman in his life and good friends. HELLO! Get over it! It’s is more than annoying to watch him sucking up to Ramsey because he is afraid of losing his job. That’s ridiculous. He should jump on the bandwagon with John and find out whatever dirt they can about Ramsey so that they (and we) can be rid of him. I know, that’s not happening tomorrow, but maybe the next day? I can hope, can’t I?
