Past Star of OLTL Dies!
Tuesday November 28, 2006
Actor Jeremy Slate who stared as “Asa Buchanan’s” right-hand man “Chuck Wilson” died Sunday, November 19th following complication during an operation for throat cancer. He was 80 years old - however those who knew him certainly know his life was a never-ending series of adventures. Besides being a talented actor, Slate had also been an accomplished writer, songwriter, screenwriter, radio announcer and director, as well as becoming a lifeguard, swimming instructor and the first person to swim across the Long Island Sound after the war. Slate will certainly be remembered by many One Life to Live fans as one of the many long-standing characters from the past. He was first hired back in 1979 when "Asa Buchanan" first blew into Llanview, and he continued on the show for 8 years until he left in 1987. Although he had appeared in nearly 100 TV shows, OLTL was by far his longest-running role in television. Recently Slate had made a guest appearance on NBC’s sitcom My Name Is Earl, starring actor Jason Lee.

I remember this man on the soap. However, wasn’t he from a western show of something?
He was one of my favorite characters when I started watching the show back in ‘81. I loved the characters back then Marco, Karen, Larry, Becky Lee, Sam, the old Clint. Jeremy Slate Rest in Peace.
Rest in peace! Jesus says to us in his word that the peace he gives us is evelasting. Set your cares upon him and he will bear up your burdens. Jesus is a wonderful Father to us! He promised us peace and so many other promised that how can our lives be nothing but joyful through anything we have to face in this life. I know that peace, love and abundant joy will be tenfold in the world He has prepared for us.
Going there to see Jesus and all of my loved ones is on my new years resolutions, every year. Along with reading Gods word everyday to be guided in my life here on earth.See ya there Jeremy Slate. Your fan on One Life to Live, Georgia-Rose Greer
